  • Great looking watch
Color: Silver With Moss Green Band Style: vívomove Style Pattern Name: Smartwatch
Bought the watch to keep count of my steps. Has a ton more monitoring. Depending on what features you have turned on determines the amount of battery life you have until you need to recharge it. Battery life much better than first watch (Fossil) that I purchased. To be fair Fossil watch was not a hybrid like this watch. ... show more

  • Best watch yet
Color: Silver With Moss Green Band Style: vívomove Style Pattern Name: Smartwatch
This thing is light weight and keeps track of steps, runs, biking and even walks. Easy to wear at night for sleep tracking. First watch that’s not to heavy for sleeping. Battery life is better than an Apple Watch but 3 days max.

  • Great smartwatch. Different than most, and I really like that.
Color: Silver With Moss Green Band Style: vívomove Style Pattern Name: Smartwatch
I'm writing this review from the perspective of someone who mostly needs a watch for its smart features, not its fitness features. I purchased a vivoMove Style in Moss Green, but changed the band. My previous watch was a Fossil Q Venture, and the back had popped off that one in the heat of a Phoenix summer. The Fossil was OK, but nothing special. Your standard smartwatch. The vivoMove Style is definitely not that, and I like it. I was drawn to the vivoMove Style simply because of how different and clever it is. You can't tell it's a smartwatch at all without activating the display. When the display is not active, it is completely invisible, making the vivoMove Style look and function like a standard analog watch. You won't know the display is there at all until it is turned on. The screen activates similarly to other smartwatches--turn your wrist towards you, or tap the face twice. The display is divided into two sections, top and bottom, and the hands sweep into a horizontal layout to move out of the way when activated. My main concern with this watch was about how it handled notifications, which is my primary use for the watch. I get Microsoft Teams messages and texts throughout the workday, and the ability to monitor them without digging my phone out of my pocket is most important to me when using a smartwatch. The biggest question was, would it even display notifications from Teams at all? The answer is yes, it will. The watch will display any and all notifications your phone can receive. See the app screenshot. Thankfully, via the Garmin app you can specify which notifications you want your watch to display and which to ignore. My Pixel 3 will display the current weather as a notification, which would make the Garmin vibrate and alert me, only to show the weather had been updated. Turned that off, of course. However, while it will show notifications, it doesn't always do a great job of showing you the content of said notification. For example, if I get a text message, the top half of the display will show a little text message icon, and the bottom half will show who it's from. To actually read it on the watch, you've got to do some tapping on the face of the watch to open the message. And maybe I just need more time to get used to it, but sometimes when I tap the screen, it registers as a swipe to the right or left, and switches from the message notification to something else. Similar drawback with Teams. Shows the message icon and the name of the group/person that the message is from, but not the whole message. This is a bit of a negative compared to my old Fossil, which would make use of the entire screen to show as much of the message as possible. Would be great if I could adjust the Garmin to get rid of the little message icon and use more of the screen to display the message, but there is no such customization available in the app. The displays are kind of hard to read in bright sunlight. Might be easier if I had gotten a watch with a black face instead of a silver one. Not sure on that. The default brightness setting for the display is "Auto" which adjusts for ambient light. One of the first adjustments I did was set it to maximum, permanently. Overall, I'm still pretty happy with it. It's vastly more comfortable and lightweight than my old Fossil Q Venture was. I even wear it to bed for sleep tracking, which is something I would have never dreamed of doing with the Fossil (I don't think it had sleep tracking anyway). The fitness features seem to be pretty extensive, and maybe I'll make use of them in the future. But you can peruse other users' reviews for more info on those features. If Garmin ever allows customization of the notifications, in order to show more of the message content from texts and whatnot, this will be a five-star review. ... show more

  • Love it!
Color: Silver With Moss Green Band Style: vívomove Style Pattern Name: Smartwatch
Sometimes the screen doesn’t respond. Sometimes the battery seems to die quickly. However, I have been wearing and using it for about a month and that’s the only issues I’ve had. I like it for fitness tracking and General day-to-day monitoring of my steps, heart rate, stress, and other things. A tip is to keep the Garmin Connect Mobile app open even just in the background and it will remain connected for weather texts and other things on the phone. ... show more

  • Pebble wearer finds it nice looking, but the app is terrible and exercise tracking is a pain
Color: Silver With Moss Green Band Style: vívomove Style Pattern Name: Smartwatch
I've had this watch for 3 months and worn it almost that entire time, day and night, exercising or not, to the pool, etc. It is comfortable to wear and it looks great. The battery life is reasonable, usually lasting me 2 or 3 days, which lets me charge it Friday while I sit at my desk and run all weekend on a charge. I would consider a week of life to be excellent (but I haven't seen a decent smartwatch since the Pebble that could that). Sleep tracking works well. I wish the alarm vibration was a little stronger, but it's okay. Setting alarms in the app is a real pain. I have to rediscover where the alarms are in the app every time I use. The app itself is trash. It syncs fine, but the GUI is awful. Garmin should throw it away and start over from scratch after they fire their design staff. It's that bad. Actually, scratch that, I don't believe they have a design staff. The app was written by back-end engineers who were told to do their own design work. Think network router UI from 2005 bad. It's seriously terrible. The OLED screens are invisible in daylight. If you can use your other hand to shade the screen, you'll just barely be able to see it. At night the OLEDs dim so much that you can use it as a flashlight to avoid tripping over the mess of cords charging your devices on the bedside table (I really miss that Pebble backlight LED). So, you'll still want to whip out your phone and turn on the lock screen to see around in the dark when you want to pee. The exercise tracking is a pain. In fact, waking it up with a double tap is a pain. Anything using the double tap is a pain. They set the sensitivity on the accelerometer for discovering taps super duper low, probably to save battery life. To start and stop exercise, you double-tap, but there's not enough feedback to let you know that it actually started or stopped other than the time starts and stops blinking. Is it paused when blinking or going when blinking. I have to think about it every time. Why couldn't there just be a green dot or red dot or something similar? And then when you're done, it's unclear how to stop the activity entirely. I had a Fitbit between my Pebble and this watch and I miss the autodetection that I was engaged in an activity. It'd be nice if it would just notice my increased heart rate, turn on activity recording, and then ask me on my phone (with a pleasant to use GUI, please), "What'd you just do?" It doesn't do anything like that. The move alerts are a joke. I'd like something that tells me to move when I've been sitting at my desk for a couple hours straight staring at my screen for work, but usually it warns me to move 30 seconds after I sit down after running upstairs for coffee. I just finished moving, why is it telling me to move? The stress thing is broken and the heart sensor kinda works, but it's not very consistent on my arm. I don't know how they measure PulseOx with green LEDs effectively when every PulseOx device I've used at the doctor's office uses red ones. It is consistently lower than the dedicated PulseOx device I own. The weather app works great. I have no complaints there. Anyway, it's a good looking watch, which has a great weather app and pretty good sleep tracking. The GUI on the phone is awful, the OLED is useless outdoors, and the exercise tracking works, but is a pain. Cheers. ... show more
