This is my 3rd Garmin Alpha, best on the market IMO. The only problem I have had is that one came off of my dog's neck in the woods and I was unable to track it to find it due to loss of satellite earlier that day without me knowing. Garmin is excellent with their support dept. and has replaced both a faulty handheld as well as a collar that had lost signal. I will continue to use this product with all of my dogs. Works like a charm. At first, I would use the tone and vibration and have to also use the shock correction. Now after a tone, she comes right back. Also easy to track where she is using the GPS handheld. You can see exactly where she is and where she has been and her trek coming back.

I own 2 TT 15s, one I have had for 5 years and still use and have used daily. The TT 15 and alpha 100 are the best trackers on the market. Ignore the one star reviews. Just because you are poor and cannot afford the Alpha 100 for 599$ does not constitute the technology being inferior. This collar is a life saver , it allows me to track and train my dog. If I am at home it allows me to keep me dog in the yard and know if he leaves the yard. Every 2.5 second update I always know where he is. I can also call him back when I want to with this collar. At night I turn the light on to spot him thru the woods.I have found that I have about a 5 mile range on him in the mountain woods . If he goes into a valley it shortens. ... show more

I have 16 acres and we used this to train our dogs to stay on our property. Overall it was cheaper and quicker than installing an underground fence. This unit does not beep, vibrate, or deliver a shock to the dogs automatically. The trainer must deliver all correction types. It would be nice if there was an update to beep and vibrate the dogs when they approach the set boundary. ... show more

Awesome. Love the light and vibrate features. No complaints- when equipment has failed, Garmin reps are ready to provide repair or to help. Great product and 100% worth the investment. Nice upgrade- but I do wish they could get rid of that antenna somehow with future upgrades.
