Used this for our yearly Canada fly in. I like that it's small for that reason and it does everything I need it to. It also works really well with the clamp on pole I got for mounting the transducer. All the guys I go with were secretly a little jealous I think, they kept asking me about it the whole week. I had it on a little 15ah battery and it easily lasted the whole day. My buddies brought up some of their big fancy electronics and they were dead at some point within the day. We made maps all week and it worked out awesome. The lake that we fish is massive with a bunch of islands so having the map to get back home was really nice. Building the map was pretty fun and forced us to explore a little more. Very accurate, the picture quality and the modes were nice, and the value for what I paid far exceeded my expectations. I'll be buying another one, probably a step bigger just for a little nicer screen size for my personal fishing boat but this one is perfect for my Canada trips, I wouldn't want anything bigger. If you are looking for a budget fishfinder that is packed with features, this is it! Clearvu give you an excellent view of what structure really looks like and can be used in conjunction with traditional sonar to help pinpoint fish. I recommend searching up 1cast1fish on YouTube where he explains everything you need to know about using the garmen 4 vivid and how clearvu and traditional sonar works. This fish finder has put me right on the fish and it feels like cheating! Disclosing my bias, this is my first fish finder and i through around the idea of buying a cheaper walmart fish finder, but i have no regrets paying an extra 50$ to get this unit that has clearvu and gps database to be able to mark the fishing spots. Don’t waste your money on the cheap 100$ fishfinders at walmart and buy this or the higher model instead. A drawback for some maybe the small screen size, but i have absolutely no issue with it. Perfect little fish finder for kayaks and other small boats. Was able to rig it up on an ammo can containing the battery with the scotts transducer mound attached to the side. I mounted a cleat on the side as well for extra transducer cable and an extra mount on the front of the boat if I want to move it. Unit works well and is easy to read.
