  • Good upgrade from HRM Pro -- works with Fenix 8 with latest software
Size: M-XL
I upgraded to this device from the HRM Pro partly because it provides a couple of interesting running metrics: avg step speed loss (cm/s) and avg step speed loss %. After about 4 runs, Garmin Connect and your Garmin Watch will show you a "running economy" score based on those metrics (maybe in combination with other factors, not sure). You will see the step speed loss data in Garmin Connect starting with your very first run with the HRM 600 -- it's just the running economy score that requires multiple runs. The other changes from the HRM Pro are the addition of a button and status LED, rechargeable battery; and the sensor module can now be detached from the strap. The button/LED are fine but not essential. I only needed the button for initial pairing. You can push the button to wake the sensor, but it seems to wake up automatically whenever I put it on while wearing my watch. You can also use the button to toggle the connection mode between secure and non-secure, which is not particularly relevant for me. The LED flashes when the sensor is active and has a different pattern depending on whether it's connected in secure or non-secure mode. The rechargeability and detachability of the sensor are much more useful updates. By the way, my watch is a Fenix 8, and it works flawlessly with the HRM 600. The running economy metrics recorded by the HRM 600 were only available with a couple of newer watches when it was first launched, but many watches are now fully compatible with the HRM600 with the most recent software updates. ... show more

  • Get the 200
Size: M-XL
Probably the best HR monitor on the market. But it is the same hr tracking as the cheaper HRM 200, but it includes running dynamics that are honestly not that useful to anyone, more of something you want to see once and think it’s interesting, not something to track. I liked that it was machine washable, that was nice, and it was very small too. The clips that the device goes into may have some durability issues. If you have a good amount put away for something like this, I’d spring for it. If you just need accurate hr data, I’d get the HRM 200. ... show more

  • VERY Easy to Setup Heart rate Strap
Size: M-XL
This is no doubt a pricey heart rate strap, but it's accuracy, stability and quality construction, could save your life! I have had Garmin heart rate straps over the years and have always had issues, over time, after changing the batteries a couple of times. This one, however is USB rechargeable and that also saves the landfill issue with battery disposal. It paired almost instantly with my new Forerunner watch and the Connect App, which now shows when this specific strap is detected,by the watch. No guessing which device the watch is linking to. The only criticism I have is that I would prefer waking it up by the button on front only, rather than auto detection. This way you could have the strap on before getting to a exercise location and manually activating it when you get there rather than having to take your shirt off to put it on when you arrive, to save battery life. ... show more

  • Nice chest strap but ... hard to remove from strap
Size: M-XL
I got the HRM-600 because it seamlessly complements "both" my watch and the app, offering extra stats or acting as a backup when my watch battery is low. While I also own a Polar H10, it only connects to my watch, making the HRM-600 more versatile. Pros: - USB rechargeable, - Connects to both the Garmin app and watch, ease of use - Added functionality over previous models. Cons: - Average comfort and battery life; - Device-2-strap connection feels too tight raising concerns about its durability - Green light is visible through clothing. I don't have means to measure accuracy, but I have read great reviews about the Garmin sensors. I'm finding the Device-2-Strap connection uncomfortably tight, which is a major drawback and could ultimately lead to a return. I'll give it a few more days to see if the fit improves. ... show more

  • Garmin HRM 600
Size: M-XL
Replaced an old Garmin chest strap with this one. Works very well. Connects to my watch, phone and equipment and seems to be pretty accurate so far.

  • Check the product and box contents
Size: M-XL
The product arrived without its original packaging and had traces of human hair! It contained a heart sensor, but lacked a Type-C charging cable and an instruction manual. A disappointing experience.

  • This is what the HRM Pro / Pro Plus should’ve been
Size: M-XL
As a long time fan of Garmin (having had 7 watches and 3 different HRM in the past), this is my favorite HRM, but not surprisingly as it’s also the most expensive. Started out with the HRM Pro a few years ago and the added running metrics were much appreciated. Battery life was rated for 1 year but with my typical use, lasted around 3-4 months. The biggest con I had with that was the need to have a tiny screwdriver around to replace the battery. When I saw the Pro Plus have an easier to change battery compartment I was intrigued. My Pro had stopped working and Garmin was able to replace my Pro with the Plus. The Plus was working well since I got it, it was similar to the Pro, had an easier to change battery compartment, and was familiar. 8 month later let’s say the strap started to get worn. Frequent cleaning with soap and water only went so far before it started to get funky. The band started to get stiff. The clasp started to get loose. The HRM 600 with its rechargeable battery and modular design were what should’ve been in the past. Did I like paying so much for a strap? Nope. Also not a fan of not being able to get the new metrics since I don’t have the latest and newest generation of watches. But that one con aside, very pleased with the 600 and hopefully this is the last time I’ll have to buy a HRM. ... show more
