I bought this carpet runner because I wanted to move a chest of drawers up a narrow staircase. It was too heavy to carry it up and too awkward and heavy to walk it up and I almost half carried half pushed it up from the side until I was defeated by the even narrower last few feet. So I determined to pull it up with a rope and put something between the wood and the steps... hence... This runner was the right length and the right width and the right price that Jack built and it did the job and when I was finished I didn't roll it up for next time by left it out in the narrow hallway at the top of the narrow stairs in the narrow house... well, you get the picture. It looks pretty nice on the wooden floor so that's a bonus after buying it for this purely utilitarian purpose and leaves it handy for next time. So I don't mean three stars as a negative review, just a neutral one: it's good enough and it's attractive enough and I'm pretty sure it's durable enough but I can't get excited enough to give it four or five stars, and I can't work up that excitement for the price, either, which was fair but not low enough for me to gloat to my friends about what a bargain I found. Fairly priced, fairly functional, fairly attractive: It's welcome to work as a runner since it's there already and unobtrusive, but if I didn't have a special project in mind I wouldn't have bought it. I purchased this rug for my beau's upstairs space. "Man Cave". I needed something basic and easy to clean. This rug fits the requirements. It has a skid resistance backing, but it very similar to a bathroom rug. I purchased a 8x10 size. I was not expecting it to come folded in a box. It's okay for what I am using it for. I don't expect it to last long, it is a bit flimsy. During football season, especially Superbowl, there will be at least 4 big footed men drinking, eating and dropping food and beer on this rug. I’ll start by acknowledging that this rug was very inexpensive. That said, I am not a fan of this rug. On the positive side, it is inexpensive, the color black was what I expected, it stays in place fairly well and it has a thin profile which I wanted. However the negatives outweigh the positives in my opinion, even the low cost. First, the rug is very rough and not soft at all on your feet or hands and knees if you’re kneeling on it. Second, every speck of dirt, material, thread and perhaps neighborhood cat that touches it, seems to get stuck in it due to its Velcro like rough texture making it very difficult to keep clean with a vacuum cleaner or by picking it up and shaking it outside. The third thing I do not like about this rug involves vacuuming. You cannot vacuum over this rug without it getting sucked into the vacuum cleaner and damaging the rug and perhaps even the motor on the vacuum. This happened the very first time I vacuumed it and resulted in a huge pull that traverses the entire width of the rug. I am on the hunt of a new rug and I am willing to pay more this time for a softer, easier to clean and better quality rug. ... show more

I had the rug on my floor less then 60 days. I went to shake the crumbs off and the ends frayed on both sides. Amazon will not replace without cost to the customer. No luck trying to contact the company direct. It also comes with a permanent fold in the middle that does not settle out with time on the floor. ... show more

Rug covered the entire space I wanted it too, and more— right under my queen sized bed. The rug came quick, about a week earlier than expected, and came in an easy to handle box! I’ve seen some reviews say that it comes folded, and it does. However, the folds come out in a handful of days and with some vacuuming, and the folding into a holdable box makes it much easier to transport from the door to inside the house. The rug is also easy to clean; it stays in place when vacuumed. And on a scale of 1/10 for softness, I’d say 7-8/10- it feels good to walk on. If I had a friend or had family looking to buy a rug, I’d recommend this rug :) ... show more
