I bought this carpet runner because I wanted to move a chest of drawers up a narrow staircase. It was too heavy to carry it up and too awkward and heavy to walk it up and I almost half carried half pushed it up from the side until I was defeated by the even narrower last few feet. So I determined to pull it up with a rope and put something between the wood and the steps... hence... This runner was the right length and the right width and the right price that Jack built and it did the job and when I was finished I didn't roll it up for next time by left it out in the narrow hallway at the top of the narrow stairs in the narrow house... well, you get the picture. It looks pretty nice on the wooden floor so that's a bonus after buying it for this purely utilitarian purpose and leaves it handy for next time. So I don't mean three stars as a negative review, just a neutral one: it's good enough and it's attractive enough and I'm pretty sure it's durable enough but I can't get excited enough to give it four or five stars, and I can't work up that excitement for the price, either, which was fair but not low enough for me to gloat to my friends about what a bargain I found. Fairly priced, fairly functional, fairly attractive: It's welcome to work as a runner since it's there already and unobtrusive, but if I didn't have a special project in mind I wouldn't have bought it. I give it a solid neutral. It get's the job done, though as a pure decoration I'd keep my money for something finer. ... show more

I love the color, but purchased because they were advertised as machine washable.. When you look at the tag attached to the rug.. it states spot cleaning.. they are not machine washable.. which is why I had to buy these new rugs.. as the last ones, same brand, fell apart on the first washing and the manufacture would not warranty them. I ordered 3 of these rugs. 8x10. Two of them are laid next to each other in a large room. One is about 2 inches longer than the other. It looks really goofy. The one that's solo looks alright though.
