Best microwave on earth!! I will recommend this microwave to everyone. Parents with young children can use it due to the lock safety control (which you remove by pressing the cancel button). This is not a noisy microwave!! You can hit the mute button if you don't want the beeping sound. Close the door gently if you don't want the noise. GE are makers of the best products, I have been using their dishwasher since over 5 years and I know without a doubt that I will also use this microwave for a long time based on its performance so far since over 2 weeks that I purchased it.

Only had it for a day now but it seems to work great and it looks very nice. Smaller than my huge 1100 watt Panasonic model, which is exactly what I wanted. Counter space is slim.

i wanted a simple, dependable microwave. this fits the bill. no fringes, so no worries about disrupting my wifi, or power surge charges with power up and down that would knock out circuit breaker. and, it was smaller in depth than other models, a requirement for where it needed to fit in shelf. and the price was right! the only complaint i have is that, as other reviewers have stated, it is difficult to discern the keypad. the numbers should be illuminated, highlighted, something to make them more visible. if the door is open you can read the keypad, otherwise it is a stretch, depending on how much light there is in ktichen at any given time. not a deal breaker, i wouid purchase this again, as i love everything else.

After my 11 year old $65 Hamilton Beach from Walmart died, I realized that shopping for microwaves isn’t as simple as it once was! This GE unit is compact, saving precious countertop space. And, although it’s only 900 watts vs. the 1000 watts of the old unit, newer technology allows it to heat faster & it holds my 10.5” casserole dishes! I LOVE the mute option, which clearly displays the word “mute” when engaged. My old unit would beep loudly & repeatedly until the door was opened & while pressing the buttons. It was so annoying! I also love that I can turn the clock display off as I already have one on the oven-range. Another great feature is the ability to use the kitchen timer independently from the oven, which is important while multitasking. I was shocked to learn that some manufacturers do not program their microwaves this way - you can either heat food in the microwave OR you can use the kitchen timer - but you can’t do both simultaneously! Who the heck needs a .9 cubic foot box timer?! smh The buttons are easy to press on this GE & the white enclosure brightens up the kitchen. I hope it stands the test of time! CONS: I dislike is the turntable stop. The microwave is not programmed to complete a turn when shutting off, so the bowl/cup/casserole handle never ends up in front where it should. The Timer on/off button allows you to set the timer & turn the nonstop beeping off when it’s done, but to enable the timer you must hit the start/pause button that’s used for cooking. I’ve yet to get used to this awkward setup.

It took awhile to get used to and still am getting to know this microwave, had our other one since 2013 from my Mom when she passed away. It is very nice and many different features that I am getting used to, works way better than our last one. One thing I noticed though is I have to put a bit of extra time on my popcorn when popping so don’t understand that. Much hotter than last one but it could be because our other one was getting ready for the microwave grave yard. Haha. I would recommend to purchase this product

The microwave oven itself works fine and is quiet. The unit also looks sharp. The keypad isn't so good. The buttons have poor contrast and can be difficult to see. Each key requires too hard of a press to activate. I shouldn't need to press "Cook Time" if I simply want a few seconds or minutes. It should be enter time length > Start. The beep tone is a shrill akin to a medical device. This can be easily silenced if you like. I don't like the way "Power Level" works. I'd rather use percentages like many microwaves do, but I guess this is a simpler way for those who don't understand percentages? I liked our old Whirlpool better. The Whirlpools were sold out everywhere I looked. I see why.
