  • Sturdy and durable
Durable. Stands well. Use two people for easier assembly. Fallen tree branch tore a hole in the top but the frame did not collapse. I have trouble rolling the flaps on my own but found it easy with two people. No rust on the zippers and they still glide. Definitely maintain your guide lines. Helps to maintain the placement of the carport. ... show more

  • I like it
The poles are made of 1 1/2 steel tubes which seems ok by themselves. however, I live in the northeast where we get all 4 seasons, including all high winds, rains, and snow. I wanted to give it more of an advantage so I went to the hardware store and purchased about 16 1X2's. I screwed them together into the poles about 4ft high and down lower about 1 foot high. The stakes are not strong enough to hold it down and we lost it In the high winds 3 times. Once it was actually blown 20 feet up into a tree and over a powerline. GEEZZZZ. Thank goodness that it was only held up by one of the string stakes, which we simply cut and lowered it back down using long 2x4's. After that, we dug 6 five-inch, two-foot holds, poured cement in with an eyehook. Tied larger stronger rope over the top cross frame securing it to the cemented eyehook. I will post photos later. eyehook. This really really made the frame steady. I think it will last. ... show more

  • Not as HD as expected - not kind of quality expected
We rated this a 4 as 3.5 isn't an option.. We got it during a reduced price special which saved us over $100. If that were not the case we would probably return it.. The Good: the frame definitely goes together easily. It is a straightforward assembly. The tubing is a larger diameter than a Shelter logic we are replacing which has held up to multiple winters and some heavy snow. That said it also was a smaller size. The wall thickness is OK as larger diameter adds a lot of strength by itself. It is packaged well with everything marked and accounted for. The design looks like it will help keep weather in check as areas overlap nicely preventing seeping in (rain). The elastic connectors for the sides, like the snap pins in the tubing, make assembly fast and relatively easy. The BAD: This is called HD but the material the top, sides, and ends are made of isn't as thick/strong as the Logic we are replacing. The metal securing clips that fasten into the bottom of the poles are a major weakness it seems. This in part due to the tent material itself put also do to the design and stitching.. One corner on ours already has a rip in just trying to pull the top tight. Its ripping at the stitching. Looking at some of the clips on the bottom of the sides also shows how the stitching has made holes that potentially will also rip IMO. Also the clips on the sides do not reach the holes in the tubing either at all, on some, and with stress on the rest.. We ended up not using them for fear they also would tear. It looks like the top is short on both sides as the re-enforced section on it is inches away from the tubing that runs horizontally. We even measured all the tubing worrying that we had mixed up some A's and B's. That was not the case. Also the stitching on ends that holds velcro showed areas that were poorly done (extra loose thread etc). OVERALL: We will keep it. We will come up with patches to fix and re-enforce the clip areas and to allow fastening along the bottom edge. The size and ease of frame assembly is great. The concept of the design also seems really good. The top, sides, and ends drag all that down several stars. Mainly the material and/or the stitching causing issues with the material.. We have an ultra HD tarp that we may cover it with but it may add too much weight for the unit. Had we paid the normal full price for this we would be upset and have returned it. Having gotten a good deal on it we'll keep our fingers crossed and try to fix its weak areas. 10 month follow-up: We didn't put a tarp over this as planned.. We had a rough winter with heavy wet snow up to a ft thick at times.. This unit held up to it as well as to heavy rains and high winds.. Initially we though it would not hold up based on concerns we mentioned in our original review.. We anchored the outside corners with heavy cord and inside we used bungee cords to weights.. Very surprised at how well it worked and lasted under winter and spring conditions.. A plus that we like a lot is the roll up front door with 3 velcro straps to hold it up.. This makes it easy and fast to raise, hold in position, lower.. There is a caveat in our update review.. It rained constantly, hard overnight, and into this morning.. we noticed water on the vehicle inside it.. looking up it seems that the coating of the tent has gotten thinner in spots with some water seeping through. Its only a few spots but prior to this it never leaked so worth mentioning IMO.. all in all a good product for the price. ... show more

  • Tarp does not last, poor quality
After just two years the top tarp on this completely tore apart (see picture). Didn't even have any wind! Very disappointed as this should easily last longer. I have several tarps I use to cover firewood etc and they tend to last 8-10 years easy. I see other reviews now for this product that also indicate their tarps tore. I looked to consider purchase of a replacement top tarp but many reviews indicate the replacements they purchased did not fit and/or they tore after a short period of time. Not sure what to do now, but based on all this I have to give this a very poor rating - should be a zero but that's not an option on here ... show more

  • Bought 9 of these for a temporary shelter/ camping set up for a 40 person event
I've read the bad reviews, but most seem like user error. These work great, bought them because the usual ones I buy ( from Costco) were all out of stock. These held up in rain and high winds just fine, assuming you stake them down properly. I'll admit my set up was only for 14 days, but we had a lot of wind and rain come through, and these didn't budge. But again, you have to stake them down properly, I would recommend if you are not using this as a permanent structure to buy some 10"-12" galvanized nails from the hardware store and stake them down with those. The provided ones aren't bad, I used them as well for straight down tie offs, but also used the galvanized nails to tie off at 8' outer tie downs. They also only come with 6 anchors, not enought for a non permanent set up. But overall they worked great, solid parts, and only 1 had a manufacturing default, it was missing the Velcro on one ove the panels, but I'll be able to sew one on. ... show more

  • Solid.
I read the reviews on nearly everything I buy. Usually I get the info I need, but still remain skeptical. I’m writing this review to save someone some time. I bought this back in September and I’ve been pleasantly surprised at its durability. I live in Maine and recently we’ve had some tumultuous weather. Rain, snow — on Dec 23rd we had 45mph wind gusts. This little tent survived all of it and although I fear I may be jinxing the thing by writing this review, I have to say for the price, it’s a good investment. Make sure you anchor the feet into cement or pavement with 2” screws and if the forecast calls for anything above 25mph winds throw a ratchet strap at each corner. The tent comes with a couple of plastic ground screws (similar to the ones you see with a beach umbrella) and those will suffice to hook to the ratchet straps. If snow is imminent make sure you periodically knock it off with a broom or something like that. You should be all set. ... show more
