  • Comfortable
I’ve had a knee replacement and with the padding I have no issues at all getting up and down. Tools are handy in the pockets.

  • Comfortable and handy bench is nice height
Great for work in the garden or taking photos of flowers and insects. Its just the right height to sit and prune small plants or use to steady yourself taking photos instead of crouching. The pockets help keep tools together even if you are not sitting or kneeling on it. The cushion is much thicker than on my previous item like this and it is light enough to move around easily. Its more expensive than just using a foam rubber pad, but much more handy and comfortable. Its a good value for the price. ... show more

  • Sturdy to sit or kneel, pad and pockets come off easy, poorly placed locking pins for large hands
This is a handy stool even when not being used in the backyard. It's sturdy, holds lots of weight in both positions and is fairly comfortable. The metal frame seems well built and I think it will stand up to a lot of punishment. The plastic corners may be a weak point, but there is no plastic in the pivot points or any major mechanical point. The plastic is what makes contact with the ground and gives the stool proper "corners" as the frame is rounded, it keeps the metal from being directly exposed to moisture while in use, but I would not leave this outside in the weather. I suspect it will be prone to rusting. It is painted, but anything being used in the garden gets beat up and scratched and eventually metal will be exposed. I'd also be careful not to get dirt in the springs. That being said, there's enough clearance in the mechanisms that it will probably work rusty, it will just get harder to actuate. The pad just has four round magnets sewed in under the fabric. It does a pretty good job of holding the pad in place and is easy to remove when flipping it over to switch between sitting and kneeling. Similarly, the pockets on the side just slip on, so they come off easily when flipping. If you're using it for either kneeling or sitting primarily, this is perfect, but I will probably get annoyed changing 3 pieces (the seat and 2 sides) if I'm going back and forth frequently. I'll probably end up leaving the sides off or only using one if I need a pocket. The price is a little high for a garden stool, but it does hold a lot of weight and it seems like it might be well built enough to last a while. If it does last it's worth it. Rusting is the main concern, especially with the exposed spring. The one thing that I don't like is that the locking mechanism uses pins that go through the frame to hold it in place right where it's most natural to put your hand to release it. It's possible to grab it from the other direction and avoid putting your fingers over the pins, but it's more awkward reaching it from the inside and for the price I would have expected a plastic guard or to have spaced them wide enough fit your hand in-between. I am happy with the stool, but use caution when working the latch to fold the legs down and keep it dry. ... show more

  • sturdy comfortable gardening bench
great assist in getting up and down.I use it as an indoor and outdoor footstool. It's a seat for gardening, and it's great to do gardening on your lap! It's well constructed and attractive. The cushions are also large and comfortable, affordable, and fully functional. It's easy to put together.

  • Decent
This has been handy to have, I have a few plants growing indoors and I have a bad back. The cushion is almost not worth having, the foam is weak and the magnets barely manage to stick even when there's nothing on it. The rest of it is fine.

  • I use the kneeler...
I don't sit while working in the garden, but the kneeling pad feels better than kneeling on the ground and when the ground is damp, it keeps my knees dry, as well.

  • Could use some improvement
CONS: Pad. Tool Bags. Handles. PROS: Portable seat. Additional Thoughts: I have bad knees and got this to take strain off my knees and back while working in my raised garden beds. The height of this seat is perfect for my beds that are around 2 feet tall. I am around 230 pounds and found the sheet metal under the pad to flex just a bit and would like to see that area strengthened. The seat pad is held on by magnets which sounds great but shifting my seated position while gardening caused the pad to shift which did make me a little nervous. The tool bags just hang on the handles and I found them to just be in the way and ended up removing them. The bags are in the way of the handles that need to be squeezed to collapse the legs for transporting. Speaking of the handle for collapsing legs, that is not the easiest to squeeze that handle and have the pegs come through into your hand. If you have narrow hands, that may not be an issue. My hands are average for a male I guess, and it isn't exactly comfortable trying to collapse the legs and carry this in and out of the garden. The legs do seem to be very sturdy and strong.
