When you first open the box, you will be completely confused. But believe me, it's one of the easiest things to assemble. It's like putting together puzzle pieces—no screws are required. I can't believe this can even be sold. After frustrating myself for 90 minutes tip-toeing around the thing because it kept engaging in rapid self-disassembly, It's standing there empty because I don't trust it to stay up or support anything. Getting the bars and cross members in place was like setting a faulty mousetrap - at any minute the thing was going to spring apart. If you move it slightly to insert the cross member, three three other parts come out. It doesn't stay upright, so you have to stack things around it to keep everything going up without falling over. AND, WHATEVER YOU DO, DON'T WAIT TO PUT THE SHELVES IN!! If you try to put the shelves in at the end, like the instructions state, you're going to be reassembling this piece of crap multiple times. This shelve IS NOT HEAVY DUTY. This shelve IS NOT STURDY. This is a lightweight, shelving system that frankly seems dangerous because if you put anything on this, you risk it falling on someone if they walk by it at the wrong moment. These shelves I feel are more suited for basement storage and not so much for garage. I have heavier gauge shelving in my garage as they get bumped more often. I believe these shelves are perfect for lighter objects and great for basement storage. They are nice and tall and easy to assemble - took me maybe 30 minutes with the most difficult part being the second level height … but I did this with only 1 person, 2 people would be ideal and would probably take 10 minutes off build time. The material is a little lighter and less sturdy which is why I recommend inside usage and not garage type storage. I am happy with the shelves and they have replaced the old plastic shelves that sagged and weren’t very durable. ... show more

The metal is very flimsy and lightweight, definitely not heavy duty, I can break all the pieces with my hands easily. It went together fairly easily but remains rather unstable for an object of its size, as the metal is very thin. The screws that come with it do not fit the brackets as well. I ordered 4 shelves and they arrived 2 days later. I was expecting to wait at least a week! They are fully entirely metal. After assembling the first one, the other three were a breeze. I found that you can minimize wobbling by putting on the top shelf before the middle ones. Overall I’m super super happy with this purchase and I highly recommend this seller. I’ve purchased 6 of these so far and plan to get more. I currently have them in my storage room and shop. Definitely a great value for the price. The shelf is sturdy, but not something you would want your kids climbing on. It handles weight well when spread out over a large area, but it’s not made to handle heavy items in a small area because the metal is thin. A person standing in the middle of the shelf would probably cave it in. Main thing is to make sure the shelf brackets are all locked in properly because that’s what give it stability. It it looks like it’s leaning or the shelves are crooked it is not assembled right and you should start over. Also be sure to attach it to the wall ... show more
