  • Life saver
These work great! We’re so happy this inconvenience was solved. These take less than 30 seconds to put on. I tried the toilet paper tube trick. Just go with these, best $10 j e ever spent!

  • These work, but aren't a great fit
Review Date: 05/22/2024 Price when Ordered: $9.99 *I ordered this product through the Amazon VINE program, so I did not pay, but I still take the price into consideration on my reviews. Overall Impression: I previously had cut out the cardboard from a cereal box, and made my own little tunnel to block the sunlight from my garage door sensors. I didn't realize these even existed, so I was excited when I ordered these. Once received, I replaced these along with the actual camera/sensors as the ones I had are about 18 years old at this point. Installation of the sensors actually took me some time, because it turned out I got bad ones that didn't work. These little sun shields were the easy part though. They are made of plastic, and in my opinion they were "heavier duty" than they needed to be. Especially when it came to their thickness. They almost didn't fit with the bolt/wingnut combo that was on the sensors. I barely was able to get the bolt through the mount and the sunshield with enough left to fit the wingnut onto. BUT, I was able to in the end, and they worked. A much better solution than the duct tape/cereal box concoction I had frankensteined together. Nonetheless, even though it worked, I didn't feel that it was a good fit. They just seemed like they were "too universal." So, I like these, they work, they are easy, they just are not a great fit. My Review Scale: 5 Stars - Good product, something about it is better than I expected, would recommend. 4 Stars - Good Product, with quality that I would expect. I would recommend. 3 Stars - Decent Product, but there is something I don't like. 2 Stars - Ok, but do not recommend. 1 Star- Do Not Buy ... show more

  • Great solution to major inconvenience.
Having spent the last few years struggling with massive amounts of sun glare on my garage door sensors I was getting desperate. I almost fashioned some third world toilet paper tube thingy to try and fix the problem but luckily these sun shields suddenly appeared in my feed. What a life savor. After a few attempt to try and realign my sensors these worked remarkably well. It's as if garage door makers want you have extra headaches. What a great and easy to install product. ... show more

  • It works…my garage door closes easily
This Garage Door Sensor Sun Shield by RTHDG is well made. It’s light and feels solid and strong. It’s made of solid plastic. What’s great about this product it has an elongated drilled hole. You can adjust the positions of your wing nut. Unlike many competitors and OEM it has 2 drilled holes and no adjustment options. I have tried all I can find online how to solve sun shining to the sensor and nothing works except for RTHDG sensor sun shield. I have Chamberlein B6753T 1-1/4 HP Garage Door Opener ... show more
