  • Love it!
I wimped out on standard screen-less tablets and went for this one. While I was kinda getting the hang of the whole my-tablet-doesn't-have-a-screen-so-I-must-look-at-the-computer thing, it was just too much for me, especially with my bad coordination. I also have wrist problems, so making the same mistake over and over because I can't see my drawing right below the pen is, uh, not good. This tablet has been amazing. My old Huion tablet always had a problem syncing with my driver for Paint SAI? This one has no problems at all. The screen looks great to me. There's very little lag (there is of course more lag if I overwork the computer, which is probably more of a computer problem than a tablet problem). The pen sensitivity and tilt control have been great; I find them much better than they were on the Huion tablet. It is also soooooo liberating to not have to charge the pen. That feature alone is already a life saver. Every now and again, I forget, and I have this moment of panic followed by relief as I remember charging the pen is a thing of the past that I never have to worry about again. This tablet does require a computer to pair with. It basically functions similar to a tv that has been connected to a laptop; it can only mirror and interact with content that is being powered by a computer/laptop. The HDMI cord is the main part that powers the screen, so without anything to plug the HDMI into, it will not work. My boyfriend was a little upset about this, but even if it requires a computer, it still has better quality and ability for adding details than for example just using an iPad. The seller is also very nice. They reached out to me once the product arrived to ensure there were no damages or other issues, and I believe they also reached out before the product arrived with updates on the shipping process. They warned me against common problems other customers have experienced with the device, and while I did not experience any problems myself, it was still nice to have an understanding of what could possibly happen ahead of time. As I mentioned before, this works great with Paint SAI. I've also used it with regular Microsoft paint and Krita. Honestly, I've even checked my email on this thing without issue. The driver installed without a hitch. The screen was in good condition with no scratches. The pen has a decent quality to it and is not heavy in any way. The hotkeys all function as intended. Overall, it is hard to think of any problems with it since I don't think I've had any. Even the cords come with a cord-keeper, so I've had no problems there, either! If there's any issue I could think of, it's really just that I keep accidentally pushing the buttons on the pen while drawing, and they even have a quick fix for that by just disabling those buttons. In summary, I really like it. The device functions great. This seems to be a pretty nice company, and they do lots of sales. There is of course a large price for this, but it's honestly super affordable compared to other tablets with screens, and even in comparison to some big named tablets that don't have screens. I don't use it nearly as much as I should, but the quality has held up throughout my duration of having it. 10/10, couldn't be more pleased. ... show more

  • Great value for money, especially for beginner/hobbyist use
I'm a professional artist, working with bitmaps (Photoshop, Corel Painter), vectors (CorelDraw), and 3D assets (Maya), and usually work on my Wacom Cintiq that's connected to my workstation. I bought this tablet to use with my laptop, to allow me to do art for fun in my free time, while lounging on the couch. This is my first budget art tablet, and I really didn't know what to expect. I have now used it for a few hours for vector art in CorelDraw and to paint in Painter, and over all, I've found it to be very usable. I would definitely buy it again, knowing what I know now. PROS: - Small and easy to use while hanging out on my couch, drawing for fun; - Rubber pads on back of tablet add traction, so it can be used on an inclined surface; - Color rendering of this screen is good. Absolutely no complaints. If your art is primarily intended to be viewed on screens, you'll be happy with the results. I don't have a color calibration tool, so take this with a grain of salt. - Worked exactly as described, even before I installed the Gaomon driver (I had Wacom driver installed already, and it didn't seem to interfere with Gaomon functioning). Once I had the driver, I was able to customize the pen and shortcut buttons. - Appears durable and well-built. I've been using it as a secondary monitor next to my laptop daily, and drew on it for a few hours over the past two weeks, and didn't notice any issues. Buttons feel solid, there are no dead pixels, and the tablet as a whole feels solid as well. I haven't tried sitting on it, but normal stresses of carrying it under my arm together with my laptop haven't resulted in any damage. The stylus didn't leave any marks on the glass either. I can see this tablet lasting for a few years. - Super-affordable. I bought this tablet from Amazon Warehouse and paid 99 bucks for it. At that price point, this tablet offers excellent value. Even at full list price, it only costs as much as a few pads of high-quality drawing paper, and less than a set of 72 Copic markers. CONS: - Stiff cables, and too many of them for the year 2022. The tablet has two cables that connect to your computer: an HDMI and a USB-A. Especially the HDMI one is very stiff and makes it difficult to move either the laptop or the tablet without tugging on the cables and moving the other device. If used on a desk, that's probably not a huge issue, but for my use case, it's a noticeable inconvenience. - Cable the third is for the power supply and it's not separate from the data ones, but rather is part of a wire harness with the other two, coming off the end that's closest to the laptop, so this limits where you can plug it into an outlet. Again, not a huge gripe, and I have used a small extension cable to get the power to the tablet, so easy to work around. - In 2015, this would have been fine, but in 2022, all of the data and power needs of this tablet can be served with a single USB-C cable, which can be much more flexible, and also easily replaceable. The power/data wire harness that the tablet comes with isn't easily replaced, because there is no independent power input on the device, only mini-HDMI and USB-C. Given my use case, I just have to be extra-cautious when using the tablet on the couch, with the laptop off to one side. - Relatively small screen to work on. On one hand, great form factor for doodling in my free time, but I couldn't use it for work full-time. YMMV of course. - Noticeable parallax (the perceived difference between where you have the tip of your pen and where the cursor actually appears on-screen). In the middle of the screen it's mostly fine, but the issue becomes more and more pronounced as you move towards the edges of the screen, to the point where I routinely miss the scroll bars when I try to move the drawing I'm working on (up-down or left-right). I have calibrated the screen, but the fundamental issue is that the glass between the LCD display and the tip of the pen has thickness, and it becomes more noticeable as the pen moves farther away from the point directly in front of your eyes. To say it in a different way: On this tablet, the cursor is always precisely under the tip of the pen if you look at it straight from the top, but as you draw, you move your hand all over the surface of the tablet, and as you're looking at it a bit more from the side, you can see more and more of that glass separating your stylus from the image on the screen, making it *look* as if the cursor position was off, and it's distracting. Wacom does some magic to compensate for that (but it's not a fair comparison at 10x the price difference), and that's why for my full-time work I'm sticking with them. For relaxed doodling, this isn't a problem, and I'm absolutely happy with the tablet. It's also possible that if I used this tablet for more hours daily, I'd get used to the parallax. Either way, not a deal-breaker. To reiterate: I would totally buy this tablet again, and I'm happy with the purchase. ... show more

  • Excellent Tablet for beginners! Not recommended for professionals
Gaomon Is a good company to sell art tablets for those who started digital art or who aren’t willing to pay for expensive tablets like Wacom. I own this tablet for 2 an a half years, and no issues by far. As I rate it for 4 stars, lets get to the pros and cons PROS Very good price, selective buttons, and very reliable to your needs. Pen pressure sensitivity is great, battery free pen, compatible to Adobe softwares (and other art softwares), and can be a second monitor. CONS Size is pretty decent but small, if you have vision problems, I wouldn’t recommend this tablet. Mid color quality, If your a professional graphic designer, artist, or animator, The color Pantone does not match with the tablet 75% (compared to the computer) There is a display settings that can help. Some lag issues, sometimes, the tablet will not track with the pen (most of the time it does) corners around the tablet will have issues with tracking, and one in a while, you’ll have a bit of glitch (like when you put your pen towards the screen of the tablet the tracker will head to the corner). If does happen to you, don’t panic! Best way is to restart your software. Cords, cords can be annoying and could be in the way but it’s worth the price. Last but not least, No Tablet Stand, if you’re getting this tablet and wanting a stand, it’s best to buy any tablet stand which will be additional cost of $50. Overall, it’s a very good tablet for anyone. But sometimes you’ll come across with some issues and it’s normal. I highly recommend it for beginners or those who needs a cheap tablet ... show more
