Never owned a portable fencing system before but always saw them at the horse camps. We love this smart fence. This fence goes up so easy and quick, my husband puts this up by himself in less than 10 minutes. We use it at camp when horse camping, the D cell fence energizer gives enough jolt to keep the horses on their toes, they are very respectable of it. I would recommend this system over any of the portable fencing systems for horses that are on the market.

The poles included with the kit are not even numerous enough and the ones that were included bent after a few days in the ground. The electic “rope” is well made but the rest of the kit is of poor quality. Instructions on how to take it down would have been helpful..or a video ..something! No return box? Too bad ..you will have to purchase one to return the item.

The idea is great. The actual product needs a little more thought. Mine came missing 5 of the orange tie-outs and pins for the poles. Of the tie-outs that ARE there, the tensioners are rediculously ineffective. They just don’t stay tight. The pins on the end of the poles are quite easily bent, and if you have particularly hard or rocky soil, the plastic step-on tabs used to push them into the ground are too small and too soft. I’m actually surprised I haven’t broken one yet. The poles themselves, while I like the design and features, are too soft and wobbly. They need to be stiffer. Driving them in takes 3 hands: one to apply downward pressure to the pole, one to hold it straight and steady and one to pound it in from the top. Again, I think the design is top-notch. My bull got a horn wrapped around one of the wires and took it for a jolly ride before I got the solar charger connected and turned on, but nothing was broken and it seems to be working well now that it’s up.

It's very convenient but the reels are not always synchronized...something a couple can wind up tight and leave significant slack in another. On the whole pretty handy though.
