This is a fantastic large umbrella. It has a very sturdy pole that doesn't have any flex to it, a large canopy that springs open with the touch of a button, and a beautiful wooden handle that is comfortable to hold. Unfortunately obnoxious branding is a big detractor to what would otherwise be a classy umbrella. While I wouldn't put an excessive amount of weight on it, the fiberglass pole in this umbrella really is pretty solid and doesn't flex one bit. Combine that with the metal tip on the end, and it's exceedingly comfortable to hold handle, and you could surely use this as a light duty cane. As with any large umbrella you've got to be wary of wind gusts, but so far this one has held up fine in the recent storms, and I've had no issues with it flipping up on me (caveat emptor of course). The canopy deploys pretty fast when you push the release button, and collapsing the umbrella is effortless, winding it up with a twisting motion until you can secure the velcro strap. The wooden handle is gorgeous, smooth, and very comfortable to hold. Honestly my only complaint about this otherwise perfect umbrella that makes you feel like saying "oxfords not brogues" with a slightly arrogant tone, is the garish branding they've put on it. The vertical part of the handle has a flattened out spot with "G4Free" burned into it in large print, and it is hideous. I think it is more than enough to have their name/logo emblazoned on the fastening strap, and even that I'd prefer to be plain or at least subdued, I mean how many umbrellas have you see with branding on that part anyway? Overall, setting aside the branding they've slathered all over it, I love this umbrella. It is comfortable, it has great coverage from the rain, and it has been quite durable. If you can look past the logos, this is an excellent value for a great umbrella. ... show more

I ordered this umbrella after my large golf style umbrella from a big box store randomly broke after it's third use. When this arrived, I immediately checked it over for signs of weakness or other poor quality, and was happy to find everything looked solid. The wood handle is lovely and really gives this umbrella an upscale look, while also being very comfortable to hold. The material is obviously waterproof and so far seems great. The umbrella is large enough for two adults to huddle under, or if you're like me, I make my husband carry his own so I have plenty of dry space around me! We live near Seattle, so the daily dog walks necessitate umbrella use a few times a week. While compact umbrellas are great if you transport them around a lot, they tend to be less sturdy and not as large. So far, I have used this umbrella in 30 mph gusts of wind and it held on really well. It is a big umbrella, big enough for two people to use comfortably. I wouldn’t call the G4Free umbrella with a 54" arc, large, by any means. When it opens, it’s huge – and, I mean, HUGE, but will definitely protect you in the rain; actually in a downpour. For me, I prefer a smaller, more compact umbrella. But I ordered this one to replace another over-sized old, worn umbrella. 🌂 The umbrella also appears to be durable with a metal shaft. The frame has a fiberglass rib build, but I’m not sure if it will hold up during wind gusts. Most umbrellas collapse during wind gusts, but bounce back to form. ☂️ It’s a classy, good-looking umbrella and I, particularly, like the maroon color. I don’t, however, like the maximum branding effort all over it. The handle, which is over-sized, can easy get caught into something. 🌂 In addition, it opens easily with a push of the button. It has a decent cover with a strap, but the strap can also be hazardous, and you have to be mindful it doesn’t get caught on something. 🌂 Overall, it’s a good value for the price, and I recommend it. 3.5 stars, which equals out to ⭐⭐⭐⭐stars ... show more

This is a great umbrella. Love the sheath to keep it tight and contained, so it doesn’t get caught on doorways or what have you. The days of the umbrella are mostly gone, but I can’t count how many times being able to pull a big, beautiful umbrella out of a car saved me or one of my passengers from a torrential downpour. This umbrella has got to be one of my favorites!! It looks great, it does a nice job at keeping the rain away and is sturdy!! The umbrella comes with a carry case as well.. It has a nice solid wooden handle and is easy to open.. The tip of the umbrella is great to so that you can put it down without scraping the umbrella... It is large enough for 2 to be under it at once. It has a good velcro to keep while the item is closed... The Umbrella opens and closes very nicely and should last a while... This umbrella is relatively large and light with good coverage and opens up at the push of a button. It does not have the double-vented design and as such is prone to breaking in strong winds. The wooden handle gives it a nice, classic look and makes you look a bit more sophisticated in a business setting. I wish the "G4Free" branding was not on the handle. That makes it look a bit cheesy because -- let's be honest here -- the brand is not particularly well-known nor associated with higher class. ... show more
