Misfeeds are relatively common, sometimes dangerous. I would say the machine is about 80% accurate. I honestly feel this is beneficial, as real pitching includes balls and strikes. Middle middle every single pitch isn’t going to build a good eye. So...I am happy with the machine. I manage a baseball team in Florida and have been using the Furlihong 767BH-4 X-design for one year. The Furlihong 767BH-4 X-design is a marked improvement over the previous model as the new, X-design wheel-feed orientation allows the batter to follow the drop fed ball into the wheels to optimize batter swing and timing. I have used many machines including two- and three-wheel fed machines and the Furlihong 767BH-4 with new X-design 4-wheel orientation permits more pitching options. A 4-wheel pitching machine has more controllable degrees of freedom than a 3-wheel machine, so its pitch menu is much larger. 4-wheel machine vs 3-wheel and 2-wheel A 4-wheel machine can do all that three- and two-wheel pitching machines can do plus finer control of spin axis and spin efficiency, which means: • More realistic seam orientation • Better replication of specific pitchers • More consistent gyro spin • Better tunneling between pitches • More distinct versions of the same pitch type So, the gain is not just “more pitches,” but more variations of each pitch. We also use the machine for grounders and mile-high and line-drive fly balls! Furlihong 767BH X-design 4-Wheel Baseball Pitching Machine throws more strikes and much lighter, with removable legs making it transportable to the field and small enough to fit into a mid-size SUV.
