Our package was pretty banged up when it got to us, and there were multiple spots where things could have easily fallen out so I wasn't airport's to find that the wheels were missing. Even without the wheels, this is a great bed; I'm sure we'll end up picking up wheels at home depot though.

Okay so- I love this bed, which is why I’m giving it four stars, but it does have its faults. It took my brother and I awhile to assemble it, mostly due to some struggle with the support beams that left us frustrated out of our minds (and led to us almost giving up multiple times). You cannot assemble this with one person, and honestly three is probably best. Maybe we tried to put it together in a more complicated way then you’re supposed to- but I seriously doubt that considering how long we spent trying different strategies. Anyways- some of the pieces didn’t fit together perfectly and took lots of attempts and 2 people working together to get them to fit. The paint was also chipped in some places, though it’s not noticeable now that the bed is together. After a month or so of sleeping in it, I’ve noticed that it’s started to make noise and feel less sturdy. It’s scaring me a bit, but I think I’ll just have to go through and retighten a few of the screws to fix it. All in all, it’s a beautiful bed and I don’t regret buying it. It’s exactly what I wanted and fits great in my room. However, there are a decent amount of drawbacks. They weren’t detrimental, but they were REALLY annoying. Take that as you will <3 ... show more

We almost sent it back. As soon as we opened we saw how poorly it was packaged. There was no padding so the pieces scrapped together during shipping causing the paint to chip. I decided I could touch up what was showing and we proceeded. There are a bunch of rod and two support beams. You have to fit the rods into both beams but this part was a nightmare. We tried multiple ways of assembling it and my husband who has endless patience started doing some very deep breathing. I got worried. He had some choice words for the person who designed it. It took about an hour to figure out how to get all the rods to stay in so you could screw it together. Tip - we finally used masking tape to hold them in. Once that hell was over the rest was ok. Looks good put together but you can still see some of the paint chips and one part actually is rusted which is visible. I’m concerned about how sturdy it will truly be. I assembled this by myself. It obviously would have been much easier with a second person but it was manageable alone. Took me a while. But everything in the package arrived in great condition. Instructions were meh. Could've been more clear but I've assembled enough ikea furniture to figure this out. The bed is sturdy for my rambunctious 6 & 4 year old. I could see it becoming squeaky down the line as metal furniture as a tendency to do when it's been well used. But so far it's good. The bottom trundle works well. This was hard for me to assemble by myself, but is perfect as a guest bed in my small study. Trying to fit all the 16 pipes into holes while holding the frame together was incredibly frustrating. Would have been super easy with two people. Once it was assembled, it was so cute though.

After having to take it apart 3 times, we figured out the best way to put it together. Instructions would have been helpful, since it ended up taking us about 3 1/2 hours to get it assembled. You will also need a slim mattress for the pull-out trundle. A regular thickness mattress won’t fit.
