My very shy foster really appreciated this. I’ve had cats all my life and only recently realized how important it is for them to have a safe nook like this where they hide away, especially for a kitty getting used to a new environment. I haven’t tried washing it yet, but I run a lint roller over it for excess cat hair. Feels like it would do fine in the washer. It comes with padding insert for the bottom. This Furhaven Pet bed is small. I was going to use it for a dwarf bunny so the size is fine for him. He is only about 4 lbs. I purchased the navy blue with triangle door from the "used like new" option. It did not come with a cushion or pillow insert and the tent will not stay open or up without something inside.     • Entrance too small for an adult cat
The entrance hole is too small for anything but a kitten. My 12 lb average-sized adult cat got the entrance stuck on his body while trying to exit and freaked out then wouldn't go near it again, even after I used a scissor to enlarge the hole.

The cat cave arrived in good condition. The cat cave materials are of a good quality. My cats like to sleep and/or handout in the cave. Because the cats enjoy the cave, I ordered a second one.

    • Do not machine wash
Product is advertised as machine washable. It arrived with a mild odor that is common with factory made textiles so I threw it in the wash before giving it to my cat. The cave was nearly destroyed and the cushion was rendered completely useless.
