5 stars - best gift I ever bought my cat she LOVES it. Re: Assembly - The lid is already assembled and the box part just pops open and the lid fits snugly on top.) I opened the box outside and just as I finished putting it together my senior cat jumped in and immediately claimed it. Re: Durability - It is made of cardboard that is covered in fabric - but for my two cats it's sturdy enough. Re: Comfort - As others have stated in the review, the bottom is a hard piece of cardboard with some furry fabric on it. What I did was put my cat blanket in (with a pee pad underneath) and then added in her cat bed. This way IF there is an accident, the bottom of the house is not ruined - and ALSO my cat is sleeping in her perfectly plush bed - in her house. Re: Practicality - My purpose in purchasing this was to give my senior cat a place to "hide" and to have some peace and quiet. Unlike other places she hides, I can easily find her here. I LOVE that I can lift the lid up to pick her up, this is so much easier than trying to coax or pull her out of hiding when she needs to eat. PLUS with the way it is constructed, it's nice and dark in there for her to curl up for a nap - but light enough for me to look in the "mouse hole" to see her. Re: Cat's Review - They both give it 5 stars. My senior cat is so much more comfortable now with her cat bed snug inside her little house - and it is quieter for her too - and dark. It also keeps playfully naughty sister from bothering her and yet allows them to sit together. Note: IF there was competition for the house, I would buy a 2nd for the younger cat, but she has been content to let her older sister be the sole owner :) ... show more

This checked off everything I was looking for in a cat bed - except. I was looking for something to replace the many cardboard boxes my 22lb cat loves to hang out in with something better looking. I purchased the large one and very glad I did since she can fully stretch out in it. Downside to these is (as others have posted) the bottom has "0" padding, which is a big disappointment considering the price!! Luckily I had a foam pad which I wrapped in a pillow case and now have 3 in of comfort for my girl. They really need to provide an adequate pad for this price!!!! ... show more

Bought this for my 2 very large cats so they can look out my bedroom window. Previously I had a smaller cube that they both struggled to perch on at the same time, so I thought this longer version would more comfortably accommodate both of their ample keysters. I keep it on my bed right under the window so they can reach to see out. They sometimes lay on it or in it, and there is plenty of room. It looks very nice and seems to be quite sturdy. Now...the reason for 3 stars is because for the price, there are a few quality issues. While the outer fabric seems to be of very nice quality, the inner fleece cover of the bottom cardboard insert is thin, poorly made, and just held on with a flap like a pillow case. I know this is so you can take it off and wash it, but a zipper would have been better and would have stayed on nicer. The inner bottom of this is just carboard and hard as a rock. The little yarn ball is tricky to attach and made of cheap yarn that comes off in my cat's mouth every time he tries to play with it. Not wanting an expensive vet bill if he ingests all that yarn, I threw it in the trash where it belongs. Other than that, the appearance, outer quality and size are perfect for what I needed. ... show more

Very nice ... easy to put together ... cats love it. They also look nice in the house. Its a nice upgrade from Chewy boxes that they used up until now. I bought it to put in our puppy's crate but decided to use it for our cats instead. They love sleeping in it and on it. It has held up perfectly and looks attractive. It looks more like furniture than a cat bed.

My one cat is like a giant and he loves this and it fits him perfectly. Others jump on it doesn't seem to bed or move. He does scratch the walls and stuff. That has been holding up.
