This full over full with a twin trundle has been great. Our kids love the stability. It does have a squeak but it’s not very loud only when climbing onto it or moving around quickly. The kids have no problem sleeping on it, they love it. It’s a smooth black steel. Assembly was pretty easy, definitely have two people. It looks nice in their room. Purchased full over full. Arrived quickly. No missing pieces (arrives in two separate boxes). I assembled by myself and it took me about 2 hours. Purchased for my teenagers bedrooms and reason for not giving 5 stars is I’m curious how well it will hold up. Seems sturdy (I little shaky when I crawled up top but have not attached wall straps yet and I’m assuming that will make it not wiggle as much (will update) . No squeaking as comes with foam tapping and metal rods all have plastic caps on them to soften sound. Im excited to have bigger beds that don’t take up the whole room - sleep space x 3. Bought this save space when my grandkids visit. Arrived way ahead of time which was a big help. The kids loved it. Easy to assemble, quality product, good value for the money. We used a traditional mattress on the bottom bunk. The headboard was a little low causing the pillows to fall off. On the top bunk we bought a new 6” memory foam mattress which prevents the pillows from falling off. There may be other models with higher headboards. Didn’t think about it when I ordered it. The mattress seems on pipe slats 3” apart. If you use a flat sheet it takes a lot of effort to make it look neat. Would be nice if you could buy a plastic panel to set the mattress on. I have full xl over queen and the queen squeaks really badly. I can’t even turn at nights without waking my 4 year old. The whole bed wobbles like a darn cradle. My 9 year old weighs 65lbs on he’s on the top bunk and if he turns the whole bed feels like it’s gonna fall apart. I don’t feel safe leaving my kids alone in the room on this bed that’s why I choose to sleep with the them. Should in case it comes crashing down I’ll be able to take the hit off the child next to me. The legs are very skinny so maybe that’s why it wobbles so much. I’ve already destroyed the box so I can’t return it so I’ll replace it one day sooner than later. ... show more

The installation process was a bit time-consuming, but it was straightforward and not overly difficult. Since it has been assembled, the bed is sturdy and looks great in my son’s bedroom. Ordered these bunkbeds for our 10yo room. They arrived quickly. Assembly instructions were easy to follow. One thing that could be improved is the parts are labeled on the plastic bags that they are in and some of those had torn however the parts are all unique so it wasn't difficult to determine which parts were which. Items come packed in a single box that weighs over 140lbs so you definitely need help to move it. After putting them together they feel sturdy and they don't make noise when you climb them which some metal framed beds do.
