Worth the assembly drama

Amazon just asked me how the ease of assembly was for this. Made me laugh. It was an absolute nightmare to put together. Heavy and awkward. And do not try and move this thing on it's side. The top sprung open and gave my friend a bloody nose. That said, once it's together and set in place it's absolutely lovely. And in this case, all that heavy and awkward equates out to a very sturdy and well made product. It's been a game changer in terms of storage. I put all my Christmas decorations under there, and all my extra bedding and still have so much extra room. I might need to buy more Christmas decorations to fill this thing up. I'd say well worth the trouble it was to put this together. One thing to consider, is the top is pretty heavy with the mattress on when you lift it up. The mechanism is pretty awesome and does the bulk of the lifting, but I'm disabled and have struggled with it before. If you have a hard time lifting heavy objects, this might not be the most convenient bed frame option.

This item helps so much with our small apartment. We barely have space in this place, so it lets us store stuff underneath. Unlike the sliding draws, we can make the most of all the room under it. However, I don’t think the hydraulic pump is strong enough for our mattress and us. We tested it and it worked, but when we laid on it, it no longer pumped up and held itself up anymore. Because of this, I can no longer lift up the bed myself, and I have to wait until my husband gets home to help. My husband says sometimes it squeaks. And sometimes the mattress gets stuck i think? for example, I think there was 2 times he went to lift the bed but ended up lifting the whole frame too but realized early what was happening. Set it back down and tried again and it worked. I do like the frame. Its very nice and helps a ton. There is a small gap in the frame under the bed— near the floor. It helps me shove in this one particular wire i keep tripping on. Putting it together was pretty simple. It’s a fun team work project. The only tricky part is near the pump. Just take it slow and you’ll get it. Also lifting the frame for the first time when checking it without the mattress is going to be tough. Very tight, so it needs some muscle. I would really suggest 2 people work on this. Especially to hold the frame up just in case. I give it 3 stars mainly because of the pump issue we have. I am not “Mom-Strong”. I have tried to lift it myself, but it’s way too heavy for my short behind— and I am pretty sure the old mattress is not making it easier. Overall its a great bed frame! Edit: We finally were able to replace the mattress and it was much easier to lift the bed! I am still not super strong but i am able to lift it on my own. I will add another star but keeping one off cause it does creek a bit and its still new. Finding replacement for the hydraulic is still very tough, so if you do have a heavy mattress this might be tough. we haven’t been able to find one that has the same flat ends that come with this one, and getting help from the seller won’t be much help since the part isn’t sold separately or has a part name/number. So that can be frustrating. Overall very happy with our purchase. I am sorry i couldn’t be more help with the hydraulics part… Replacing a bed is super expensive and we were only able to because i stumbled upon a good sale. I do hope someone is able to help with that part so heavy beds can be supported too.

It was nice and easy to put together, came with all the pieces, and is a huge space solution for me and my husband. It’s nice and sturdy and mostly noise free with an occasional creak. The bed is nice and easy to lift up and easy to close too. We have an 8in mattress on ours and it is the perfect height. The frame also has brackets at the end which ensures nothing shifts much when it’s lifted up. It came with extra screws and the tools needed to build it. We did find the little wrench a little difficult to use but a size 13 metric wrench did the trick.

Piston issue resolved once mattress is placed on

So my son and I spent a little over two hours putting this together. We both were not looking forward to it at all. The bed was delivered with no issues (it’s super heavy). We had no quality issues; it was packaged perfectly and efficiently. We got it all together and then the piston thingies made the bed frame stuck in open/lifted position. We were both defeated! I took the pistons off. He needed a bed frame so we thought we’d just make his bed up. Once the mattress was on, we both lifted to see what we were dealing with (super heavy. I was brainstorming ways to modify or use daily (we needed that under bed storage horribly). I had him hold it open and I crawled in to see if one piston would hold it up once lifted. Bam, it started to close. We celebrated, so we put both pistons on and tightened with the bolts. We slowly opened and closed it a couple times, just to make sure. The weight of the mattress fixed it. After reading reviews that the company was not responsive to this problem, I was not looking forward to trying to get new. I don’t know why or how the weight fixed it. It was impossible to get it to budge otherwise. So, keep going. I hope the previous reviewer (a nice lady who posted a video) sees this and gets hers to work. It is now perfect. Lifting is an absolute breeze. One handed even. It also stays up/or open until you push down. I am concerned that the wood braces won’t be strong enough. My son is 6’1 and 240lbs. He broke his last Amazon metal frame with drawer storage under, but this has a much heavier weight limit, so fingers crossed. So much easier than those rolling under bed storage drawers. I will be looking to see if there is anyway I can attach his headboard to the frame itself.

The bed frame came earlier than expected. The box came a little beat up, probably because it is pretty heavy. The product itself is built well and was not too bad to put together. Took 2 people about 1.5 hours. Was worried about the strength of the pistons and if they would be able to hold up a king mattress (they were kind of small). Was pleasantly surprised to find that they had no problem holding the mattress up. The frame is sturdy and well built. There is a ton of storage space underneath. Especially great if you vacuum seal bags of clothes. Overall very pleased with this product. Worth the $. Will probably update the review in a couple months after living with it.

Back pain gone

I am giving 5 stars. I rarely write a review but I had to on this bed frame. The day we received it, it was too heavy for us to bring in the house. We are in our 70's and both of us were experiencing terrible back pain for several days that was making it difficult to get around. Our grandson came home and easily lifted it and brought it in. Two days later with help from another grandson we got the box springs and old frame removed. Our son put it together and put the mattress back on. To my surprise the first day I woke without any back pain, I told my husband and his back is also better. It has now been a few days and our backs are still good. I had to write this review because no one had addressed this and it is huge to us. The storage is great, I feel I am finally being able to get things in order. I am extremely happy with this bed frame. Yes, I can lift it, it is heavy for me but not terrible, once I get to the halfway point it easily goes up. The only thing I need to get used to is kicking the sides of it. This is fine for all the benefits we get from it.

Would not recommend getting a bedframe or supporting this company I accidentally bought the wrong size bedframe. They’re trying to charge me $100 to ship it back and it was too heavy for myself to carry when I weigh 100 pounds as is! Not trying to accommodate me or give me a refund
