We ordered this so our kitten could have a place to go up the wall to some shelves rather than take up floor space with a cat tree (our house is quite small). The wood is beautiful hardwood. No plywood. It was easy to put together. The mounting holes are the same distance apart as our wall studs, so there is no way it is going to come loose! It is extremely sturdy and easily supports both our cats at the same time. Our 4 year old grandson started to climb it, and it showed no signs of loosening from the wall or coming apart.     • Great scratcher but difficult to hang.
My cat loves her new wall scratcher. It was easy to assemble on my own but it is awkward to hang on the wall alone. I wouldn’t trust hanging this on anchors due to the weight. I installed mine into the studs in my wall and it has a good stability. The size is reasonable for my 9lb cat but a bigger cat may have difficulty perching on the platforms. The price was reasonable considering the quality and I think it will last me a long time, possibly over the course of multiple cats lifespans. ... show more

This wall-mounted cat system is wonderful. We have purchased the hammocks and various other pieces, including this cat scratching post. Easy to install and quality product that is well made. I can tell this will last a long time and could easily be refreshed with fresh sisal rope if it gets worn.

Just be sure your cat truly likes to jump. If you decide not to use these you're going to end up with big holes -- that's what makes it sturdy. Sadly though, it wasn't until more than a month later that it dawned on me that our cat has zero interest in them. We also bought this brand's pair of post-looking pieces of wall furniture and luckily I realized the cat wasn't interested in the wall-jumping before we got those installed. So now I've got these two perfectly good jute-covered "wall posts" and unable to use or return. I guess I could just let them lay on the floor, maybe the cat would like to scratch at them when they're rolling around. ... show more

    • Perfect solution to an improvised 'cat highway'
Our cat was improvising a route from a central floor to a lower level in a tri-level house. The route required either jumping a half-floor down from a balcony or using our home theater speakers as intermediate 'steps'. This wall mounted shelf system seemed a perfect solution to provide an easy path without a long drop or significant gymnastic ability. This shelf system was super easy to assemble and install. It looks nice and provided a versatile solution for installing into a corner of the room. The cat, of course, utterly ignores this new and easier path - even despite treats and verbal encouragement being employed. The fact that she will use even the first (highest) shelf as an occasional observational and launch point is a victory which justifies the purchase. Perhaps in a year or two, she'll use the other two steps in our presence and provide the affirmation we so desperately seek for our effort? Or... we'll continue to be found lacking. I really like the quality of the stairs—you getbang for your buck as they give you all the tools you could possibly need including the drill bit. It is the perfect addition to my vertical cat wall. However it was easy to assemble, but a b**** to attach to the wall because of its awkward shape and size. My cat loves it and climbs it super well. It is quite heavy and as you can see the Molly is pulling out of the wall already (I used the ones they gave me) so I’m quite unhappy about that. Thankfully it’s holding at the moment tho. Also it’s squeaks super loudly, no matter how fast or slow she goes up or down it so it’s a little annoying at night when she decides to go climbing. ... show more
