I love this camera & my "renewed" version was indistinguishable from a new camera. The fixed / prime lens may seem limiting at first, but its honestly freeing to not have a zoom or lens selection option to fuss with: it has allowed me to pay more attention to the other settings and 9 times out of 10 getting in closer produces a much better picture than hanging back and reaching for the zoom. I also really like that the main camera settings (aperture, shutter, iso, exposure compensation) all have analog controls with an "auto" option, so I have total control or automation at my fingertips. (there are also a few additional buttons you can program to access other settings) Anyway, if you're looking at purchasing this camera you probably have read better reviews and breakdowns than this already, so I'm not going to tell you anything new - but it truly is a pleasure to take pictures with. Perhaps even more important to me, I've found myself bringing it with me more than I ever did w/ my dslr - not only is it pretty small, but the compact & retro aesthetics make it feel less intense than whipping out your dslr in public. ... show more

I was a bit skeptical about using Amazon Renewed as I had never done so before. At the time of purchasing, the renewed camera was $500 cheaper than a new version, so I thought I'd take the risk. I got the package within 2 days and the camera looked as good as new! It came in the original packaging with the manual, a DC charger, a battery, a lens cover, and a strap/(strap hooks). I took a lot of pictures and tinkered with the settings and everything seems to be working properly. I haven't tested the battery life yet, and will update this review when I do so, but so far very impressed with the service! ... show more
