  • Just buy it. Seriously, why are you still even reading this? Just buy it. Seriously, why are you still even reading this?
Color: Dark Silver Style: w/ XC15-45mm Kit Set: Base
Starting out my professional career, I mainly used Canon (6D mk.II) and Nikon (D750) cameras and lenses, and to boot, I had only had experience with DSLR's and SLR's, so for some reason, mirrorless seemed foreign and scary to me. However, when I saw this little beauty, I was awestricken. For months, I looked and looked, scoured all corners of the internet for reviews, videos, etc, etc, ad nauseam. Unexpectedly, I received this as a present recently. And I have to say: What a camera! After going through dial/knob/button setup and mapping, and of course, the firmware updates; I very quickly fell in love. All of the buttons and dials, yes, even the joystick, have this really nice responsive feel to them. They click into place so satisfyingly, that I would suggest buying it just off of that alone. While I read the the EVF is a tad smaller than its beefier sibling, the X-T3, I still find nothing about it to be lacking at all. The image displayed is crisp and clear, and seeing what your image is estimated to look like before you even shoot it is a joy. Now, onto other details; The kit lens: I received the XC 15-45mm kit lens with my camera. Some reviews on this particular lens are divided, and it seems that overall quality varies. The one I've received however, produces crisp, clear images with no noticeable color distortion, and easily fixable lens/barrel distortion. This may not be the case with the lens that you, yourself get, as stated before. LCD tilt-screen: The screen is just as the EVF, crisp, clear, and vibrant. I have no issues with it, and it seems very well-made and sturdy. The one issue that everyone seems to have, is the fact that the screen doesn't tilt a full 180 degrees; however, this can be aided by an external monitor, or their phone application. I don't share this gripe, as I don't stream, or take many self-portraits, but I can see why certain people do have issues with that. Body: Overall, I wasn't expecting it to be much before reading all of the reviews and watching all of the hands-on videos. But, boy was I wrong. This camera has far exceeded my expectations in build quality. It feels solid, and very well made. I kinda disliked the plasticy feel of DSLR's, and was surprised when even the control dials on the front and back were metal too! Image Quality: The images that this camera produces are stellar! A lot of them need very little to no editing. If you really like to shoot in JPEG format, then this is the camera for you. The JPEGs come out sharp and vibrant. And, with the film simulations, you just can't beat these images! As someone who has experience with Velvia, Provia, and Acros; these simulations are probably the closest you can come to the real thing. The RAWs come in the RAF format, and work well enough in Lightroom. A little tip that some of you reading this may not know: To use the film simulations in Lightroom, under where you choose the image profile; click "Camera Matching", and you'll see all of the film simulations Overall: Just get it. ... show more

  • Amazing camera Amazing camera
Color: Dark Silver Style: w/ XC15-45mm Kit Set: Base
This is a huge improvement over a phone camera. I have a Pixel 3, which has amazing optics. But this camera really does a much better job. The menu is a bit much at first, and both the manual and some online video's of specific tutorials really is a must for a newbie. I really love this camera. I didn't even know what I was missing from a phone. The film simulations are really nice. I haven't even begun to really explore them too much, I'm having a lot of fun with monochrome. The Fuji kit lens wasn't all that great, it lacked something when I compared it to a manual lower F lens. I'd suggest avoiding the XC15-45mm and if you can afford it, the XF35mm F2 will likely give you everything that the XC15-45mm can do and more. That depth of focus blurry effect isn't really that great on the kit lens. It's fine for family photo time and I wouldn't mind using it for video. But for stills it's kinda meh. This review really isn't about the camera as much as the lens/camera system you'll be buying into. Meike and 7artisans make some really affordable lenses that give you a lot more control and precision. I highly suggest getting a manual prime lens or a prime lens in general, I find them to be much much better at the job than the kit lens. ... show more

  • FujiFilm just Mic Dropped DigitalCameraLand!
Color: Black Style: w/ XC15-45mm Kit Set: Base
I couldn’t commit to a new digital camera for 15 years...this camera is why. This is the most beautiful and perfect synthesis of modern gadgetry and old school sentiment. I needed a touchstone what can I say, I’m a romantic like that. But come on...the fact that I can set this up and shoot from an app on a smartphone...stop it some more! Thank you FujiFilm for bringing a long term light catcher back home. Please keep going!! ... show more

  • Awesome Little Camera
Color: Silver Style: w/ XC15-45mm Kit Set: Base
I've been shooting for years. Just recently decided to sell of DSLR equipment and go mirrorless. I've used the camera a bit since it arrived and I can tell you I'm not disappointed. Light, great photo quality, and easy to carry and use. It's a learning curve, and there's a lot to learn with this little dynamo, but I'm really liking what I've seen so far. ... show more

Color: Silver Style: w/ XC15-45mm Kit Set: Base
I received the camera 2 days ago. Overall the quality picture is great and the camera seems to work pretty well. But I am disappointed because I thought the products was new, it didn't came in his packaging, the battery was already on, I feel like this camera has already been used before and paying $2000 for that model of FUJIFILM that isn't new is not worth. Picture takes time to be read/load, I am worry about the longevity of it. ... show more

Color: Silver Style: w/ XC15-45mm Kit Set: Base
I love this little camera. I was shooting on the big bulky old Sony alpha cameras for years. I finally decided to switch things up and after lots of consideration decided I would be choosing Fujifilm as my next body. I went x-t30 so I could save some funds for additional lenses. It has far exceeded my expectations. I'm so glad I decided to come to Fuji, I can definitely see myself using Fuji products exclusively in the coming years ... show more

  • So many bells and whistles, you can barely take a photo
Color: Dark Silver Style: w/ XC15-45mm Kit Set: Base
I'm sure this is a great camera, but as someone coming from an old school film SLR, I found, and an still am finding, this camera overwhelming. I am down to get into the features, but can I just find the shutter speed, aperture and a light meter? Obviously punching above my weight, but I hope to get more familiar and get more out if it. Lastly, I find the width of the camera a little narrow, as a lady with smaller hands. It is s but awkward to hold, especially if you are trying to adjust settings as you are framing your shot. ... show more
