Rambling on time....I owned the Great X-T1 a little while back but ended up going a different direction. Well, I decided to come back to Fuji (mainly for the amazing JPG quality since I get bored with always post processing Raw) and was about to get the X-T1 again. Went to Dpreview just to check things out and saw that Fuji had this camera out. Dpreview only gave it Silver, but I dug deeper and read more reviews including forum posts. It really came down to what I typically shoot vs what items listed below that were different than the X-T1 that made me go with this camera. 1) Smaller size - Smaller size with same great sensor (yes, it is still the same one, but why fix what aint broke?) is exactly what I wanted 2) Smaller buffer - I don't typically need 15+ burst shots for what I shoot. That being said, I do tend to get more than what reviewers had posted. Shooting JPG fine with shutter speed at 1/1000 I get 15 shots before it starts slowing down. That is plenty for what I would use it for. 3) Small flash - Not really a difference since the X-T1 had a small flash as well (external). I actually find it very useful. Works well for general picts family, pets etc. 4) Less dials on top - I really liked the dials on the X-T1. The way the X-T10 is setup is great. So easy, and fast, to switch shutter speed, Aperture and ISO. They really thought things out. 5) Smaller EVF - Noticeable for sure, but not bad at all. The X-T1 had an amazing EVF and the X-T10 is a really good one. I really don't even think about it vs the X-T1. 6) Smaller fixed eye cup - Thought it would be an issue, but I actually like it. 7) Not weather sealed - Not important to me. People tend to over rate this item IMHO. Many forget that you are only as good as you weakest link. If you don't own a lens that is weather sealed you are in trouble anyway. Ok, so those things out of the way. You still get the phenomenal out of camera JPG. Yes, Phenomenal is the right word. Fuji colors pop and are the most accurate I have ever used. Add their customizable "film simulations' and OMG what a treat. You basically get all the FUJI films of the past in your camera with tweaking allowed. So much customization is what finally wraps up why I love FUJI. From the many buttons you can adjust to the great customizable "Q" menu you can just set up what ever you need to do things easy and fast. Oh yeah...focus speed and accuracy. Some have complained that they get a lot of out of focus shots. I just don't see it. Granted I use Single point mainly, but it is pretty much dead on for me. I also find the focus speed to be extremely fast in good light and still really fast in low light especially if you use the center 15 points what have phase detection. The hybrid AF in this area uses both contrast and phase detection which I find works really well in low light. Ok...enough rambling. I would love to go into depth on the great Fuji lenses but you can read up on each of them. I do keep the 23mm F1.4 on my camera most of the time. 3D like quality. ... show more

I got started into the world of Fujifilm (coming from shooting on full frame Nikon) with the x100s. I INSTANTLY fell in love with that camera. It very quickly became my go-to camera and I often found myself looking for reasons to shoot with my Nikon and all the lenses I had for it.... but my x100s always won due to picture quality, skin tones, the way it captures color and light and how fun it was to shoot. Now, I wanted to keep all the positives of my x100s AND have a bit more versatility... this is when I started looking into the XT10. I am EXTREMELY glad I decided to pick this baby up. This body is actually a bit smaller than the body of the x100s. But because the black parts on the body are all rubber-like texture, it makes handling it fairly comfortable and easy. I hope they will soon make a thumb grip made for this body (as they do for the x100s and XT1). There are a ton of youtube reviews of the new autofocus features and yes, they work supremely well. I have 2 dogs and they were definitely my target models for these new autofocus modes (zone focus and wide-tracking). Paired with my 23mm 1.4 lens, it didn't miss a single shot! The dials on this body are very good. As in, they're not easy to accidentally bump out of the settings you put them into. The LCD screen is plenty big at 3 inches and the tilting functionality is amazing. I can shoot from real low, tilt the screen up to check my electronic level and take shots overhead in daylight and tilt the screen down to fight glare and get the angle i'm looking for. Overall: I am in no way regretful of my purchase in any way. It's a solid body with plenty to grip and classic fuji magic in regards to picture quality. GET IT!!! ... show more

I purchased this Fujifilm X-T10 and discovered it cannot take photos due to a shutter release failure. The camera powers on normally, but the physical shutter button is missing and the internal shutter switch does not register a full press. I attempted extensive troubleshooting before leaving this review. I tested multiple shooting modes including Auto, verified an SD card was inserted, confirmed the lens was properly mounted, and checked autofocus settings. I also enabled the self-timer. While the self-timer icon appears (indicating the camera detects a half-press), the countdown never starts, and the shutter never fires. This confirms the camera is not detecting a full shutter press. I carefully attempted to trigger the shutter using a soft, non-damaging object directly on the internal switch, with the same result. The camera consistently registers half-press behavior only, meaning the internal shutter release switch is defective. This is a mechanical failure and not a settings issue. Because the camera cannot trigger the shutter under any condition, it is not functional as a camera. At the price paid, this defect is unacceptable and was not disclosed at the time of purchase. I would not recommend this unit unless it is repaired or sold clearly as non-functional. ... show more

When I first started using an SLR in the '70's, I did not like the colors from Fuji's film. Times have changed. I have become a huge Fuji fan and have had an X-E1 and an X-E2 (which I sold to get the X-T10). The resolution and color that the Fuji sensors and lenses produce are just spectacular. The X-T10 is a great alternative to the X-T1. Same sensor and processor, but the magnification of the EVF is not as large, and, of course, it is not weather-sealed. Otherwise, it is pretty much the same body, only smaller, lighter and less expensive. I got it over the X-E2, which I loved, for the new focusing system and the articulating screen. Couldn't be happier with it. The weather-sealing to me is a non-issue, but I was a bit surprised at just how small it is. It is solidly built, but small. Even with the Fuji grip on it, it takes some getting used to if you have large hands, as I do. Other than that, it's a great camera in a small, portable package. Everyone has different needs and wants, but I would take this over the X-T1 every time. ... show more

I was looking to get a new camera, as my Canon was getting a little outdated. After I did a lot of research, I settled on mirrorless, and this camera overall seemed like the best bang for the buck. Despite knowing that mirrorless cameras are naturally a lot smaller, I will say I was surprised when I saw the size of this, it fits perfectly in a bigger pocket or just an average sized purse! I've only been able to use it once so far due to the cold weather, but already I have been impressed. I've only just scratched the surface of what it can do, but it's feature-packed and yet easy to use! I've only tried it with one lens so far, the 35mm 1.4, but that right there is an awesome combination. I'm not a beginner, more of an enthusiast, but this camera would be very possible for a beginner to pick up and figure out with just a little looking around, especially if they're just using auto. (but why would you get a camera like this just to shoot on auto?) You'd have to try really hard to not get great photos with this. I don't do technical reviews at all, I find them boring to read let alone write, but there are plenty of those out there that back up my claims of this camera being really good. And did I mention, it's absolutely adorable to look at? Especially with a nice leather neck/wrist strap. ... show more

When the X-T10 nails it, it cuts like a legendary samurai sword, the camera operating as an extension of your mind, inspiring you to create better photos. I love the tactile genius of the camera: it feels and operates like a camera, with additional, infrequently needed features out of sight behind the menu system, yet the essentials remain close at hand. The incredible optics create stunning images, even the kit zoom lens -- which delivers so much more than a "kit zoom lens." You will particularly love this camera if you grew up on film. The small size and light weight of the system means you can easily walk all day with a couple lens. I just spent two weeks in Russia, walking hours and hours every day while carrying the X-T10 with the kit zoom, XF-14, XF-35 f/1.4, and the XF-56 without any issue. But then there are those times when the camera just won't focus, or won't focus quickly. At those times, you will curse the entire Fuji system and wish you had a DSLR. Sometimes, you can hack your way around this by manually refocusing or adjusting the focus selection location/size. Sometimes, even that won't work. When shooting fast moving subjects -- even speakers at a conference -- the lag between when you shoot and the trigger fires can be quite long, necessitating a lot of timing and pre-thinking. ... show more

I love the form factor and the fact that it is essentially a T-1 at about half the price but without the robust build and weather sealing. In my opinion, the camera is a bit too small (smaller than the X-E cameras, and they use the usually smaller form factor of rangefinders). I don't have large hands but adding a metal hand grip with Arca Swiss style base plate added enough grip and heft (but not THAT much) to make the camera feel more capable, especially when using heavier legacy lenses. The IQ is on par with my full frame Canon 5DII, in fact the noise control at higher ISOs is better. ... show more

I bought the X-T10 as a backup camera body for my X-T1 and also for my wife to use when we go out on photo adventures. Being able to switch between the great Fuji lenses made this the camera to get versus the X100T. It is much smaller than the X-T1 but not too small where I do not feel uncomfortable using it. I find myself using the X-T10 more for scouting and general photography as it is small enough even with a lens to carry around quite easily. The X-T10 controls layout is different from the X-T1 but it is not that difficult to switch between bodies control the camera. The X-T10 uses the same sensor as the X-T1 and we are very happy with the results. If you are thinking about getting into the Fuji X series cameras and want to be able to use the great Fuji lenses then this is the camera body for you! ... show more
