  • Great book.
A nice book for a beginner (which is what I most certainly am!!). Background: I had signed up for a multi-session class on making clay objects - not just wheel turning but also the more fundamental parts. It was nice to have the book to help me fill in some of the parts of process. And, FYI, I am quite the beginner! ... show more

  • Essential for the Beginner to Intermediate Beginner Pottery Wheel Student
Having taken ceramics courses for two years, this book is helping me to understand the basics and take my skills to the next level. You can watch videos, ask questions in your pottery classes, but I consider this to be a foundational textbook that will allow me to grow as a ceramicist and designer. There is a lot to be learned from reading the very clear instructions and explanations. Stuart, thank you so much. I hope you develop a follow up title for intermediate ceramicists / designers. ... show more

  • Very easy to learn how to make pottery.
I like how they show the particular pots to start with. They also talk about kilns and what kiln is better to have.
