Description

Fritz ProAquatics Reef Pro Mix (RPM) is manufactured using only the highest quality raw materials. Formulated by researchers and marine scientists, RPM contains all of the necessary major and minor elements of natural sea water that are utilized by living marine and reef animals. Correct pH and buffering capacity, essential minerals and trace elements have been added in precise ratios to ensure a correctly blended mix for the health and longevity of your livestock. RPM is manufactured in our own facility in small batches to ensure complete quality control, rather than outsourced to generic chemical blenders with uncertain quality. Our salt blending equipment is devoted solely to the production of aquatic products, preventing contamination issues. Fritz’s unique production process promotes a uniform particle size minimizing stratification of the salts. Each batch is assigned a lot number and tested by in-house quality control to ensure its chemical quality and purity before it is shipped. RPM is used by public aquariums, zoos, research institutions, destination retail locations, adventure parks and hobbyists worldwide. Parameters: Salinity 35 ppt (1.0264 sg) Calcium 400-450 ppm Magnesium 1350-1450 ppm Alkalinity 8.0 - 9.0 dKH Strontium 9 ppm Potassium 400 ppm. RPM parameters reflect Fritz Aquatics’ QC pass ranges, the median is targeted. Be aware source water can greatly affect parameters especially alkalinity. QC is conducted using RO/DI at a neutral pH and a TDS of 0.

I try aquarium salt to hatch brine shrimp it take longer over 24 hours. Then I found this marine salt on aquarium co-op YouTube channel, so I give a try and I got new hatch brine shrimp within 12 hours less I love this product

    • Works well but….
This salt is good and coral respond relatively well to it, but I have two gripes: the Alk is consistently very low. And unfortunately this stuff isn’t readily available everywhere, and there have been a couple instances where there was none available, so I had to wait until there was in order to do water changes. With that, I’ve had to go back to Reef Crystals, which gives me options to have it shipped here or grab it at literally any pet store if it’s unavailable on Amazon. I actually get higher Alk readings as well. So while I will recommend this salt, reef crystals is more readily available and it works just fine in a reef tank. ... show more

    • Good salt. Mixes quickly and clear
Fritz is my go to salt at the moment for reef tanks. It mixes very fast and clear and very consistent salinity. I do follow their directions of bringing the water up to temp (78-80 F) before adding the salt. Easy to calculate - 0.01 lbs per gallon gets you 1 ppt salinity. So if you want 35ppt in 10 gallons = 3.5 lbs of salt (0.01x35x10). I do notice just a little bit of the brown junk around the surface edge of my salt water mixing bucket if holding mixed water in there for multiple days, but I like Fritz because it mixes fast and very clear and very consistent salinity and alkalinity numbers. I am considering getting both their regular and the high alkalinity salt and mixing them 50/50 as I am only getting 7.3 dkh from the regular Fritz. ... show more

this is my favorite reef salt and i’ve had no problems with tank parameters while using this. swapped to this from red sea reef pro. much cleaner salt but am dissatisfied with my last shipment :/ the bag of salt had a whole in it and had leaked all into the shipping box

I like that it mixes fast and clear with in 5 minutes, But the following were too low alkalinity, Magnesium & Calcium had to add more of each after 24 hours of mixing and running pump/Air stone, Heater at 79 degrees F. Recheck after adding supplements 30minutes later and got them were I needed them quickly and perform water change on my mix Reef. On a note probably my batch was old from 2019/2020 from batch label so that's why I think elements weren't at full strength. ... show more

The Salt is prob one of the best around for salt water tanks.. issue is they always seem to come in damaged or sliced by carelessness on amazons part... Why do you even package a item thats leaking out salt and sending it out to us nothing is better then you know opening up a box and getting a big puff of salt all over the floor/room that you have to clean up.. ... show more
