Excellent window air conditioner all around. All summer we have been using this Frigidaire. Cooling and silence are superb. The design looks high-quality. Silence is similar to the split systems we have used before. Maybe the splits were a bit louder at higher frequencies and a bit quieter at very low frequencies. There are a few "silent" window air conditioners on the market now from newer brands in the market. Since we have had good prior experiences with Frigidaire, we chose Frigidaire again. We received just the basic remote control but frankly it works fine. There is an app for mobile phones too. Tip - we used some clear packing tape around the window and over the baffles to reduce outside sound and bugs even more. If you try this, make sure any tape won't ruin the finish/windows. After installation (which was a slight bit easier than every other window unit I've owned) and deciding which settings to use (eco, swing and auto) I walked away and was pleasantly surprised at how fast it was cooling my house. I did walk over to it several times to make sure it was running because it was so incredibly quiet! It was honestly as quiet as central air. I love that the lights on the panel go out after 60 seconds. So far I am beyond pleased with this unit. Update 8/31 - First the was the problem with a sort of rattling noise, but because of the intense heat this summer I wasn't about to mess with it. Then came the big problem - Mold! I kept getting congested and was always tired. Finally came the burning throat. One night I took off the door to the filter and saw everything had a dustlike coating. When I opened the louvers to clean them my flashlight lit up whatever the round cylinder type thing is that moves the air up and out. It is blue and mine had a thick white coating. I touched it and it wasn't dust. Been trying to call customer service but just get recording that the operators are too busy to take any more calls. ... show more

First of all it arrived damaged - the bottom brace was bent. I was able to bend it back enough to be useable with some pliers. (see pictures). The remote I received looks like something from the 1960's - NOT at all like the sleek remote in the pictures. Plus side, a very nice Frigidaire app is available where you can control everything from your phone. And since it is wi-fi, so you do not need to be near it. Downside, although the Frigidaire app can be linked to Google (and I assume Alexa, although I do not have it), but all you can do is turn it on or off on the Google Home app. Smart speaker control is non-existent. ("Hey Google" does nothing). It would have been so cool (pun) to tell google to set the temperature. I have $10 smart bulbs that I can tell google to set the brightness level, but this? No. Also, in the Frigidaire phone app you can see the set temperature AND the current room temperature. On the front panel - no room temperature display - why? Another downside, the front control is back-lit, but when it is off, it is VERY hard to read the slightly darker white type on the white background. You just sorta have to peck around untill something turns on the display. I can't speak to it's efficiency - I've only had it a week. It is nice and quiet. Overall a plus, but it could be better. And why did a receive a remote from 1960. Updated - after a year and a half I am now stuck with trying to dispose with this piece of crap. Mid-way into the second season, I noticed a smell - I discovered that the fan was covered with gray mold. (see the last picture) The air coming out of the air conditioner was moist - it should not have been moist. It was not from rain - it had not rained in weeks. I immediately removed it from the window, and put it outside in the back yard. There is NO way to clean that extent of mold. It is now a piece of junk - worse than that - it is a piece of junk that NYC Sanitation will NOT pick up because it uses R32, and they cannot recycle it. I will probably have to pay someone to take away this POS that only lasted 1-1/2 seasons. ... show more

    • The Most Quiet A/C that I ever Purchased!!!!

I am the Most Finicky person when it comes to having a Quiet Air Conditioner. I have been researching all different brands, I compare not only the Decibel rating, I also search the total specs on each A/C and that includes the CFM ( Cubic Feet per Minute ) that the inside Blower is rated at each speed. If you want Quiet it Certainly has to be 200 CFM and below and this A/C certainly is well below that level. High speed is 203 CFM, Medium is 141 CFM, and Low is 112 CFM, which is Outstanding for a Quiet A/C. I also could not believe how Quiet the Compressor is on this Inverter A/C, you can barely hear it!!! The outside Fan and inside Blower are two different Electric Motors, not connected on the same shaft as older A/C units. You can not hear the Compressor over the outside fan Motor, it's that Quiet!! When I received this A/C, I took it out of the box and plugged it in Immediately and it Blew me Away!!! It is Quieter then any A/C I've ever heard, so picture this, it's on the floor plugged in and I'm listening to both inside Blower, Outside Fan and compressor all at once, and it's Still Quieter then any A/C I've ever owned or repaired. Yes, I used to repair A/C, I'm retired. I did read the reviews, I don't understand some reviews with the Panel issues, it is a "Touch" screen panel, no buttons to press, just an easy touch of your finger. The A/C also came with a Different remote then pictured, it's a typical remote with buttons, I will up load an Image at a later time. But, In the meantime I was so Impressed over this Inverter A/C, I ordered 4 more!!! Yes, 4. I've purchased Many A/C's over the years, never this Quiet!!! Sorry, and it also looks Fantastic too!!!
