We're in Central Florida in our big air conditioner is wearing out so we were using two portables in the house to compensate but they weren't cutting it. I ordered this one and decided to go with the 12,000 BTU and we stuck it in the window where the portable was venting. It's been on about an hour and you can definitely tell the difference in the humidity level and comfort level. This is the first day so I'll update later if I need to. It's covering a living room dining area and small kitchen in a double wide mobile home. We just couldn't get any relief and now we actually have some. I love Frigidaire air conditioners I've had them before and in fact had bought a 24,000 BTU 220 volt from Amazon a few years back and we had that in Wisconsin at our country property and it was basically in the field and it would get up to 125 in the house easy without AC. Once we got it hooked up it was like sitting in the snow bank in the winter everything shrunk and crawled back up 😂. I'm hoping this will make the difference enough that we have time to fix the big AC or replace it. If everything works out I may just leave it there It is quiet. It's not whisper quiet but we can have a conversation and it's two feet from the dining room table. It doesn't have that big light dimming sound that the old ones had when the compressor would kick in. It wasn't difficult to put in it actually is fairly light for two 60-year-olds (men- not that that makes a difference). We bought the 12,000 unit for under $400 so that was a huge plus right now. I panicked at first cuz it seemed like it was splashing some water, but after looking at some of the reviews I just took a little piece of cloth in poked it down in the corner on the side and hung it down about 8 in the water wicks right out of the air conditioner. That wasn't a deal breaker for me you have to be smarter than the problem and not get all bent out of shape over it. Right now in our area the temps have been sitting over a hundred with the heat index over 110 in the humidity sitting around 95 to 100 so this is definitely a good thing so far. It was 78 in the house when we put it in and right now it's 72 and dropping. Even though portable air conditioners have a hose on them the bulk of the heat is still encased in that cover so it's still radiates heat. After putting this window unit in you could tell the major difference right off the bat. UPS delivered it without a scratch on the box. It got here a couple days early. I definitely recommend it especially for the price and the brand name. When I bought that larger one a few years back the first one didn't work right and I had absolutely no issue exchanging it through Amazon and the seller that I had at the time. I've honestly never had any problem returning things from Amazon and actually have only had to do that for a few things. It sure beats driving to the store in the heat trying to find one that's probably overpriced because it's in Florida. If I were to buy this unit off the shelf down here it would have been about $300 - $400 more just because of the location we're in. So getting this one with free shipping under $400 was awesome. I may get another one in fact haven't decided yet. I wish Amazon would allow comments so we could answer questions right on the site instead of going through that question and answer process and then trying to find it again. So basically it's good it works and it's inexpensive along with being a trusted brand name. For those of you techies it does have Wi-Fi capability. Update August 26, 2024 This thing keeps our entire house cool and it cycles on eco mode. It doesn't run continuously. Florida mid to high 90s and it's so comfortable in the house. I needed a second windows cooler for a large bedroom - yeah upwards of 105 degrees in the New Mexico summer heat. So far this is working great and I keep it in ECO mode with COOL. This keeps the room at a nice 73 degrees which is nice n cool and I have four dogs in the room. without this it gets too hot but with this on ECO mode and cool the bill has been reasonable and the dogs and I comfortable. The media could not be loaded. Its real nice and does the job. On low fan it cools my room that is 12' by 14' perfectly and its quite. I wish i would of got this one sooner. LG AC's are horrible!! I love Frigidaire!!

    • Not worth the time and money

I purchased this unit on May 17th through Amazon. About 3 three 3 weeks later the dust filter light comes on. So naturally I cleaned the screen/filter that came with the unit. After allowing the filter to dry, I put it back in and turned AC on. Five minutes later it shut off and dust filter light was on. Knowing that I had just cleaned it. I started to trouble shoot. I unplugged the AC waited five minutes and turned back on. When I plugged it back in, I noticed the dust filter light did not shut off. Again five minutes later it shut off again. So again I unplugged the AC and waited 15 minutes and plugged it back in, and then turned it on. Again the light stayed on, and AC shut off. This time after unplugging unit I waited 30 minutes and plugged AC back in, turned it on. The dust filter stayed on, but AC did not shut off. The next day I called Frigidaire and they said they couldn't tell me anything until I registered the AC, even though I gave them the model and serial number. At this point I was getting really frustrated with the product support and hung up. I eventually registered the AC that evening after getting off work. So I proceeded to call product support back the following day only to have them tell me that I need to purchase a specific filter for my AC, so the dust filter light will shut off. Imagine my frustration after hearing this. Utterly ridiculous. At the time I could not purchase the $35 filter, oddly they're filter is more expensive than the air filter and cabin air filter in my car, combined. Fast forward to August second and the dust filter light is still on, but now I have a second problem with the AC. The reset button on the power plug is stuck out and won't stay in when attempting to reset the AC. I don't know what the cause of this problem is. I called Frigidaire product support and the agent said they had no information on me, even though this isn't the first time I have called with an issue. Was is extremely infuriating is while I was getting the serial number for my AC unit, the agent hung up on me. Not only am I discouraged about the AC I purchased, but product support for Frigidaire is a joke, as they have no record of my purchase and then the agent hung up on me. Definitely, not durable, quiet, and most of all it is not very quiet. I am extremely disappointed in Frigidaire. If I have to send in for repair or replacement, I will be out of an AC for an unknown amount of time and Texas heat is not forgiving. Not to mention I have two indoor pets. After today I see no reason to purchase anything from Frigidaire, as the quality of the AC is not worth it, but obviously they're product support is definitely lacking in support.     • Cold house at last.

The air conditioner arrived just as scheduled but at first I was a bit worry because the shipper and the actual tracking didn’t match but after reaching out to the seller everything turn out great. The air conditioner was a great purchase especially in this heat wave we being getting lately. It keeps my living room nice and cold 🥶 that we sometimes have to change it to fan. With the used of a fan we could circulate the cold air from the living room to our bedroom which is nice. I love that when I go outside in a hot day I put on a timer and by the time I get home it is nice and cold in the house you feel it as soon as you walked in the door.
