  • Stovetop works great! I like the fact that it has knobs.
Call me old fashioned, but I like the fact that this uses knobs instead of being fully touch sensors. My last stovetop has touch sensors and it would turn on burners while cleaning which I found annoying and dangerous. No more mistakes with powering it on with the physical turning of the rheostat. Been using it for a while and it has worked flawlessly to date. ... show more

  • Fits the space of old 36 inch electric cooktop and works fine
Size: 36 inches Color: Frigidaire Gallery Stainless steel
I spent days looking online and in stores for a new cooktop when my old 48-year-old electric coil cooktop finally died. I settled on this cooktop. It arrived quickly, and was well packaged, and had no damage. I had it installed 4 months ago and am happy with it. The only negative is that it has two small burners in the two front spots. It would be a better design if they had a small burner on one side in the front and a medium burner on the other side in the front. For things where you have a larger size pan in which you are cooking something that needs stirring, like scrambled eggs or sauce, it is inconvenient to have to reach to a back burner to do the stirring. Also the 5th burner in the center with two sizes is really too large in both sizes for most pots and pans. It looks like it is more for a restaurant with huge pots. The other negative thing , but it would have been true for any cooktop I saw, was that I had to get a new 50 amp line run into my house with its own fuse box. That made getting a new cooktop quite expensive. I wish they still made the old coil cooktops without all the fancy things like quick boil that require the added amps. For those who may have worries whether this will fit in an old opening, my old opening was a little bigger than they recommended but smaller than the dimensions of the cooktop. I took a chance and it worked out fine. They provide two brackets for you to put on the underneath side of the counter to give the cooktop extra support. Because my counter was thin, the brackets extended below the cooktop and so would not have given extra support. But I found some things in a toolbox that filled the space between the bottom of the bracket and the cooktop. (One filler was an old lock from a locker). I also bought 4 more brackets at the hardware store so I would not have to worry at all about support all around the cooktop.. Another big worry I had ahead of time was that the power cord would interfere with a drawer under the cooktop. The specification picture makes it look like the cord is on the side, but it is actually far back, which I wanted. It would have interefered a little with the drawer but I found a hook to hold the cord against the back wall behind the drawers and so the fit is perfect. ... show more

  • UPDATED! Do Not Recommend!!! WORST appliance EVER purchased!
UPDATE: One of the eyes has already stopped working. It turns off and on throughout the brief cooking process. We purchased this cooktop after our induction top died suddenly. We knew there would be a learning curve going from induction back to electric, but this is the worst cooktop I have EVER used. I have such regrets and will be replacing this cooktop the moment we can find a replacement in our budget. Pros: -Cheaper than the induction replacement -Easy to install. Cons: -There are massive hot and cold spots, which makes cooking anything incredibly difficult. On the same eye, one half of my pan is charring and the other still mostly raw. -You cannot use any of the other eyes if you are using the main center eye. Le Cruset of any size basically takes up the entire cooktop and makes all of the smaller eyes useless. The smaller eyes also pull so little heat that they are basically warming spots. There are only 2 eyes that you and actually cook with but unfortunately, you cannot use them at the same time. -Boiling water is a JOKE. It takes 15+ min just to get the water to start to boil. -Cleaning this surface is impossible. You can scrub, polish, use any product and it doesn't matter. There will still be smudges and spots. You have to remove the knobs to clean it every single time. ... show more

  • "S [Stainless]" is the letter suffix of the FFEC3025US model; Quick boil is awesome
Size: 30 inches Color: black
My wife liked this cooktop's style with its stainless steel front trim strip - not pictured, so the "S [Stainless]" is the letter suffix of the FFEC3025US model number. This cooktop replaced a very similar 14 or 15 years old Frigidaire model with the same ceramic top whose main burner would overheat or thermally runaway - thermostatic control failure. Unplug and lift out your old unit, carefully measure the cutout before ordering. Upon arrival, unpack, inspect and test fit initially. Nothing missing or damaged. Seriously, read the installation instructions. Electrical connections run in an armored conduit and exit as a three-wire pigtail so I simply reused my 220Vac connector and plug-in outlet. The cooktop dimensions are accurate and the spacing brackets were packed adjacent the shipping foam. It wasn't intuitive how they installed until I read the manual; these spacing brackets simply center the unit within the countertop's cutout and keep it from sliding left and right on the countertop surface. A screw for each bracket is included as well as a bottle each of stainless steal and cooktop polish. After I completed centering and fit checks, I lastly attached to the ceramic underside an adhesive 3M compression sealing foam before lowering onto the countertop. Afterward, I sealed the cooktop perimeter's edge and countertop with black silicone caulk. A contractor might skip those added steps because they aren't included in the instructions. My unit was manufactured in Aug. 2021 and shipped in its OEM box; however, that box's shipping tape arrived failing at top/bottom sides; thankfully, the center-line joint was still taped and intact. Yikes. The new unit's quick boil burner and and other burners indeed heat faster than what we replaced. Quick boil is achieved by the inner and outer elements both heating on the front right burner; therefore, this single burner is flexible for both larger or smaller diameter cookware. This is not an induction cooktop as the seller's description certainly implied, it is a conduction radiant heating method. ... show more
