  • Very efficient
In comparison to the Vremi brand that I had purchased before, this one gets more of the job done and also has a bigger water bucket. I bought it in September of 2020 and since then I never shut it off unless I needed to clean the filter when prompted, which is super easy to do and not often! right now in Louisiana I think the humidity is high, this one fills up the whole tank in about 6 hours!!! That's efficiency. On other days when the humidity is low, it can go two days before filling up the whole tank. So that thing works for real! I only bought it after doing extensive research. It turns out that this particular brand and model is the king of all dehumidifiers. Highly recommended. ... show more

  • Garbage !
Stopped working after two weeks and Frigidaire wants to send me a 35 gallon when I purchased a 50 gallon at double the price ... I read the reviews on Frigidaire website and everyone is complaining that the product does not work after a short time and a lesser priced replacement is being offered to them this is ridiculous ... show more

  • Works like a charm
Bought this product because I recently moved to South Florida and it works great! I set my desired humidity to 40% and in less than a day it filled up its 6.25 gallon tank! Tank was easy to remove and I dumped it in the bathtub. Machine has 3 fan settings, I keep it on high throughout the day and on low at night as it’s in my bedroom. My opinion of the noise level is that the high fan gives off a pleasant white noise and the low fan is barely noticeable, no louder than my hepa filter. My apartment is definitely more comfortable now. With my central air set to 71 degrees, it only dehumidifies the air to 50-55% and it’s not even summer yet. Now I can maintain my happy and healthy 40% humidity any time through the year. ... show more

  • Humid basement? This product works!
I had 80% humidity levels in my basement last Fall when we had a run of rainy weather. It's always been humid down there despite having two sump pumps and a French drain system, so I know there's probably water on the exterior of the basement cinderblock. I'm not looking forward to fixing that problem because it will probably be expensive! Anyway, I bought this dehumidifier just to get the humidity level in the basement down so mold and mildew wouldn't grow all over everything. Within 24 hours the humidity was in the 50% range and it is much more comfortable down there. I purchased some portable temperature/humidity sensors and placed one in the basement, which is how I know how well this dehumidifier works. I haven't noticed a significant increase in my electric bill either. You definitely can hear this device running, but it's just a white background noise. The fan speed and humidity controls are adjustable, so if running the fan on high is too noisy for you then you can dial it back to medium, which is where I have mine set right now. I just have the unit draining directly into a sump, so I don't need to worry about emptying the condensate when it gets full. I'm happy with this purchase. ... show more

  • Jury is out
It worked great for about three weeks. The it stopped - completely. Called Frigedaire (Electrolux) support and to their credit they are replacing the unit no questions asked. We'll see how the replacement unit works.

  • Dampness & Smell Disappeared
We have a bi-level (split-level) home. The lower level has always been a bit damp and had a musty smell. Within the first 48 hours, the dampness and smell disappeared. I absolutely love this dehumidifier!

  • Spill Guarded/Sturdy Build/Shut Off Switch Rust Easy
UPDATE 4/09/2022 = 9 months after this $280 purchase. When reservoir gets full of water, a plastic float lever inside the reservoir presses up. The other end of the lever lowers down and releases a metal switch lever. This shuts the unit off (quick tutorial for those who don't know). WELL, that metal switch lever has RUSTED away and broke off! $280 unit plus shipping! WTF Frigidaire??? You guys couldn't build a more resistant switch to water vapor? In something that was "designed" to pull water out of the air? WOW! Anyway, found the switch online. Wasn't easy. Or cheap. About $40 after shipping. Took 5 weeks to receive the switch USPS. The labor on the website with the switch parts has listed this units shut off switch as fair to easy repair. B.S. You have to tear through several parts on the unit to get to that shut off switch. Wire harnessing removal, electrical parts hanging off everything, etc. Or, as I found out too late, break and inch or two of plastic tab above the slot where the switch can be slid out, before you have to remove everything to get that plastic tab out of the way. The plastic tab has no apparent function but to block you from changing that switch out yourself, lol. Before installing the next switch, I plan on waterproofing it with a fingernail acrylic or super glue finish applied to the metal. All it does is push up a plastic button to shut the unit off. So, metal contact isn't needed or affected by an acrylic or glue layer applied to it. Then after, just check on it every couple of months. So, beware! Waterproof the shut off switch if you decide to buy this unit! Other than all that, the unit is doing its job. 600 square foot apt, 70% humidity down to 40% the 1st 24 hours of operation. Not terrible results apart from a cheap metal shut off switch. Have to spray Lysol through the coils every 6 weeks or so due to musty smells developing inside. And it's NOT easy to tear it all apart to clean the coils and fan areas for your average person. The splash guard made this unit a better choice than the next best competitor with no guard. It does come off for cleaning if needed. Use a toilet bleach tab inside the reservoir to keep fresh. There are no rubber seals or other parts in the reservoir that can be damaged by bleach tabs. It's all solid plastics. Bleach tabs are not recommended if you are using the pump or drain hose version. The bleach can erode the seals on those features. The metal shut off switch is always above the water line, so the bleach will not affect that. But the humidity does apparently rust the switch as already stated. It's even more puzzling why the switch would rust so fast, since it is well above the water line. Just a very cheap, neglectful oversight by Frigidaire IMO. I dump the leftover, bleached water into my tub or kitchen sink both. This helps keep those areas fresher as well. Not a low maintenance unit, so, again, buyer beware. ... show more

  • Works like it is supposed to.
I bought this because I live in a condo by the ocean. Outside humidity is typically over 95%. Indoor humidity ran around 70% or more even with the air conditioner running. A condo is easy to cool so the ac did not run a lot. After buying this it ran for two days straight, only stopping to be empty, and reach 50%. I had to empty it 5 times since I have no way to attach it to a drain. Now it maintains 50% and I empty it once per day. I have had no issues. I does make about the same amount of noise as the kitchen microwave vent fan. It is mounted over the stove. It is something I accepted and I rarely even notice it now. It does not run constantly either, just enough to maintain the preset humidity level. ... show more
