  • EDIT / UPDATES; Perfect on a Slab; Compressor Too Loud for 2nd Floor
Style: 22 Pint
EDIT / UPDATE / SUMMER 2025: After several weeks, I'm getting great results. Especially with the "heat dome" and 80%-100% humidity. But I also had a Split Second Power Outage during heatwave. THE UNIT TURNED OFF COMPLETELY. EDIT / UPDATE 03/04/2026 : additional split second outages did not turn off the machine. So maybe the first outage + shut down was an anomaly? ORIGINAL EARLY REVIEW: I bought this 22 pint model for $160. as so many end up doing, I read the reviews after making the purchase. A good number are negative. But I'm not sure what to make of all the fly by night Overseas brands, with mystery brands stamped on the same machines. I prefer to stick to the makes and models included on US Government Recalls. (And these dehumidifiers do get recalled from time to time) That said, take note of the reviews being vastly different, PAYING ATTENTION TO THE PINTS matching up with any given unit. And also noting whether or not other reviewers product arrived brand new from the factory, or open box returns. I'm going to buy the Amazon warranty just in case. (Seeing the hassles of dealing with Electrolux Warranty Dept) BACK TO THE UNIT: Box was sealed and unit was brand new & unused . (Some reviewers claimed to have received used and previously returned unit. ) The unit is LIGHT WEIGHT relatively speaking. Weight of a small microwave? If you need a neighbor to help left the box, it's not like asking to remove anything major. (You're not asking for someone to remove a refrigerator up or down 150-year-old stairway ) I tightened up the somewhat loose hose cap, seeing so many mention their units leaking. I haven't had any leaking as of yet. If that's a concern, get a $5 plastic Boot & shoe tray from the builder stores. (My flooring is slate = difficult to damage) The filter is one of those "you vacuum" reusable mesh filters. MAJOR BONUS . (Vs. Those appliances that require $40 replacement filters 3x a year. ) SO I PLUGGED IN THE MACHINE, ran it on high overnight. Woke up the next AM to a full tank of water. The machine beeps 8 times and shuts down when it's full. 22 pints is approx 2.5 gallons. But the tank isn't necessarily 2.5 gallons. Other reviewers have noted this. I'm in a slab built townhouse. Wood Frame. Drywall Ceilings and Walls. Sound is acceptable and barely noticable on the slab level. Similar sound to a bathroom fan or range hood on Low to medium. CONVERSELY , placed on the upper levels you will hear the PULSATING, REVVING BUZZING SOUND similar to a 50 years old window air conditioner. Somewhat of a bummer, as I bought this to keep moisture low upstairs to prevent clothes moths. BUT I also run the Central HVAC fan 24/7. And I'm getting an impressive 5 gallons a day from a 1,200 3 story home. So I'm gonna keep this kitty. So I had to move the Dehumidifier back to the slab level. Out of respect for my shared wall neighbors. And also to preserve my sanity trying to sleep to that grading compressor noise. Seriously. Don't run this ON A 2ND FLOOR if you have shared wall neighbors. And don't run this if you have units above or below yours, WITHOUT Concrete Slab Floors.. You'll just drive your neighbors and yourself absolutely insane. (I've lived in airport landing paths and a long Police-EMS corridors . You get used to the sound and barely notice it after a few weeks. The pulsing, revving sound from this unit is not something you'll get used to. ) BACK TO THE RESULTS: I'm getting at least 2-3 tanks full of water per 24 hours. So the unit definitely works. Seeing all the negative reviews, Buy that Amazon warranty! The Amazon Asuriom warranty is often mentioned as much easier and more reliable Vs the corporate warranty. You file the claim online anytime 24 hours. And they give you a credit toward buying a new machine. CLEANING THE BUCKET: 03/06/2026 I finally figured out how to remove the bucket lid cover. You basically line the plastic handle up at a certain point, and push the tabs at the same time. It might take a few minutes to figure out. So give yourself time and be patient enough not to crack anything. I noticed a few light mold stains here and there. And that's from running an entire Summer and Autumn season of 2025 without cleaning. MY CLEANING METHOD: 1. Fill bucket with lukewarm water + 1 cup powdered food grade citric acid. 2. With the bucket firmly in the stainless steel kitchen sink, fill the rest of the sink up with lukewarm water surrounding the bucket exterior. Add 1 cup of citric acid powder to the sink itself. (Separate cup from the bucket interior. I noticed some light mold dots on the exterior of the bucket. ) 3. Let it all soak for 45-60 minutes. (AI tells me 60 minutes is the gold standard for completely killing mold via citric acid) 4. Then turn the bucket over to get the parts that weren't 100% submerged during the first 45 minutes. (Example: the scoop-shaped water gauge. Has a kind of grid pattern that would require pipe cleaners to clean. ) 5. Let it soak AGAIN in the citric acid water for another 45-60 minutes. 6. The wearing disposable gloves, use folded up thick pieces of paper towels or sponges to thoroughly clean the inside and outside of the tank. Being careful to get down into all of the cracks and crevices. With the lid and handle pieces soak in the sink the entire time, clean those parts down as well 7. After draining the citric acid and bucket from the entire sink, run cold tap water for 20 minutes through your drain lines to rinse the citric acid from the drain lines. (If you have iron pipes this is especially important. SOME MIGHT CALL THE FOLLOWING OVERKILL, But I want to make sure the dead mold debris is gone so as not to create fresh "food" for Future mold. 8. With a freshly rinsed bucket, fill the bucket with hot water mixed with hand wash dish detergent. Set the bucket in the sink like you did with the citric acid. 9. Fill the rest of the sink with hotter than lukewarm water with dish detergent. 10. And then make sure the entire bucket on all sides is soaked for about 20 minutes per side. Wipe it down like you did with the citric acid, and then rinse out thoroughly. Having done all that, the one thing I would probably change is to clean it in the bathtub or a much larger than kitchen sink. Considering how my machine ran continuously for several months in the previous year, and then sat unused + dry over the coldest winter months, I think it's a good sign that there were only little specks of mold. Imagine what could have grown without the dehumidifier running Non-Stop. If you ever go several weeks without using the dehumidifier, always set the bucket aside, and let it dry out. If you let a damp or wet bucket just sit there for several weeks, you're basically growing mold. ... show more

  • Reliable Dehumidifier
Style: 50 Pint New 2024
Got this for our basement and it's the best Dehumidifier that we have ever used. Not very loud and collects the water into a bucket that is easy to empty. Or you can have a hose hook up and let it drain down into a floor drain.

  • Works very well, lasts at least 5 yrs or more of daily use. So far so good!
Style: 50 Pint New 2024
Works great! We had this brand and model for 7 yrs. And it was a workhorse! I think it’s one of the better brands. If a dehumidifier lasts for at least 5 yrs,it’s good. We put it in the basement and it made the mustiness disappear. I think it helps keep mold/mildew at bay before it can take hold. This model has a bucket and a nozzle (to attach a hose). You can let the bucket fill up and then you pour it out…OR you can attach a hose to the nozzle and let it drain continuously into a drain (the much better option if you ask me!). If you use the bucket, it will need to be cleaned at least every few weeks so it doesn’t grow mold & mildew. This is a great dehumidifier. We had it in my brother’s basement to use, because his basement stunk. This little machine, made quick work of drying up his basement and got rid of the odors. Excellent little workhorse of a machine!!! Worth every cent. We don’t need to use it in winter, so it gets a vacation. The furnace acts like a dehumidifier in the winter anyway. ... show more

  • Non-Functional out of the box
Style: 35 Pint
Bought this back in December to use in a small RV, but had not used it yet. Unboxed it and fired it up this week (wanting to avoid sweating at cold windows). It would run for a time, then shut off. Seemed to be cycling appropriately, but when I checked the bucket, it was completely dry! Pulling the back cover, the fins are not as cold as they should be when running, and the exhaust air is not hot (which it should be from the compressor). This unit is a dud straight out of the box! Of course I was stupid not to run this thing during the return period. I will see if Frigidaire will address this (without my paying to ship the unit back!) appropriately. I didn't initially test it BECAUSE it is Frigidaire, not some no-name company. Apparently their quality control is poor. This unit was never even removed from the box, always stored upright, etc. I have tried it over 3 different days this week but no-go. Added: June 2025 I have repeated contacted Frigidaire and through their online chat, I finally got my claim submitted. I was told a new unit was being shipped to me. Nothing happened. I contacted again. Nothing happened. It has been months, and I REALLY NEED to have this dehumidifier for summer camping as I don't want the A/C running constantly. I haven't wanted to spend all of the time dealing with the sluggish chat platform, but apparently I will NEVER get a replacement otherwise. TOTALLY UNACCEPTABLE customer service from a LONG ESTABLISHED company! EDIT: 6/24/25 I spent HOURS online in chat back in April to finally get approved for a replacment. But it never shipped! I have not really wanted to waste so many hours again, but today went ahead. I have now invested over 2 MORE hours w/ Frigidaire. The first person in their chat said he could find NO RECORD of ANY prior contacts I had with them! I did not have the "ticket number" in front of me (as I had done this back in April, right before filing taxes and I'm sure it is written on the margin of something from that). After wasting over an hour, I FINALLY got a supervisor. Well turns out THIS person was able to FIND that YES, I was approved for a replacement April 14, 2025! I knew that as I had been told that when I followed up early May. Well, this person says "didn't you get one May 7?" and I said NO. The response was "Oh, we don't HAVE any of those!'!!! Wait another 10 minutes => well, MAYBE someone can approve a "buyback" ... woo hoo ... do you mean actually refunding my money? People, I get that these units are not particularly reliable. I have a prior model from them that has functioned for several years. But I would not buy a product from them with such HORRIFIC customer service. It has been SIX MONTHS without a functional unit. Things break, and occasional 'DOA' happens. i don't blame them for that, but it is everything SINCE THEN that makes me recommend that you stay away from Frigidaire. ... show more

  • Works well
This unit looks good, works very well, pulls a lot of moisture out of the air, helps prevent mold and reduce humidity. Rolls easily on its casters. Automatically senses humidity and cycles off when user’s setting is reached. It’s very heavy, hard to lift, must be above a drain unless using built in reservoir, which will fill quickly. Unit is quieter than the previous one, but still noisy. WiFi features poorly implemented, but required to activate all functions. Has unadvertised ionization capability. Not cheap, priced similarly to comparable models. ... show more
