  • EDIT / UPDATES; Perfect on a Slab; Compressor Too Loud for 2nd Floor
Style: 22 Pint
EDIT / UPDATE: After several weeks, I'm getting great results. Especially with the "heat dome" and 80%-100% humidity. But I also had a Split Second Power Outage during heatwave. THE UNIT TURNED OFF COMPLETELY. If you have occasional outages, this might not be the best model for an basement or location that you don't visit daily. Ex. Vacant House or Vacation homes you leave empty half the year. ORIGINAL EARLY REVIEW: I bought this 22 pint model for $160. as so many end up doing, I read the reviews after making the purchase. A good number are negative. But I'm not sure what to make of all the fly by night Overseas brands, with mystery brands stamped on the same machines. I prefer to stick to the makes and models included on US Government Recalls. (And these dehumidifiers do get recalled from time to time) That said, take note of the reviews being vastly different, PAYING ATTENTION TO THE PINTS matching up with any given unit. And also noting whether or not other reviewers product arrived brand new from the factory, or open box returns. I'm going to buy the Amazon warranty just in case. (Seeing the hassles of dealing with Electrolux Warranty Dept) BACK TO THE UNIT: Box was sealed and unit was brand new & unused . (Some reviewers claimed to have received used and previously returned unit. ) The unit is LIGHT WEIGHT relatively speaking. Weight of a small microwave? If you need a neighbor to help left the box, it's not like asking to remove anything major. (You're not asking for someone to remove a refrigerator up or down 150-year-old stairway ) I tightened up the somewhat loose hose cap, seeing so many mention their units leaking. I haven't had any leaking as of yet. If that's a concern, get a $5 plastic Boot & shoe tray from the builder stores. (My flooring is slate = difficult to damage) The filter is one of those "you vacuum" reusable mesh filters. MAJOR BONUS . (Vs. Those appliances that require $40 replacement filters 3x a year. ) SO I PLUGGED IN THE MACHINE, ran it on high overnight. Woke up the next AM to a full tank of water. The machine beeps 8 times and shuts down when it's full. 22 pints is approx 2.5 gallons. But the tank isn't necessarily 2.5 gallons. Other reviewers have noted this. I'm in a slab built townhouse. Wood Frame. Drywall Ceilings and Walls. Sound is acceptable and barely noticable on the slab level. Similar sound to a bathroom fan or range hood on Low to medium. CONVERSELY , placed on the upper levels you will hear the PULSATING, REVVING BUZZING SOUND similar to a 30 years old window air conditioner. Somewhat of a bummer, as I bought this to keep moisture low upstairs to prevent clothes moths. BUT I also run the Central HVAC fan 24/7. And I'm getting an impressive 5 gallons a day from a 1,200 3 story home. So I'm gonna keep this kitty. I had to move the Dehumidifier back to the slab level. Out of respect for my shared wall neighbors. And also to preserve my sanity trying to sleep to that grading compressor noise. Seriously. Don't run this if you have shared wall neighbors or units above or below yours. You'll just drive your neighbors and yourself absolutely insane. (I've lived in airport landing paths and a long Police-EMS corridors . You get used to the sound and barely notice it after a few weeks. The pulsing, revving sound from this unit is not something you'll get used to. ) BACK TO THE RESULTS: I'm getting at least 2-3 tanks full of water per 24 hours. So the unit definitely works. Seeing all the negative reviews, Buy that Amazon warranty! The Amazon Asuriom warranty is often mentioned as much easier and more reliable Vs the corporate warranty. You file the claim online anytime 24 hours. And they give you a credit toward buying a new machine. ... show more

  • Affordable, humidity settings, and a drainage port! Perfect!!
Style: 35 Pint
Old dehumidifier died. Checked at Lowe’s & Home Depot for a replacement. They were really large, expensive & didn’t have a drainage hose port. We looked on Amazon & we were pleased to find the size we needed, price we wanted and many with drainage hose ports! Super pleased with this product. Runs quietly, energy efficient, a great smaller size than many and has a humidity setting. ... show more

  • Dehumidifier... Just what we needed!
Style: 50 Pint New 2024
We purchased two of these after spending days without electricity during Hurricane Beryl in 2024. Our home was so humid for days. These helped significantly to pull the moisture from the house. We still use them on occasion during hot days in the Texas heat. They work great and have an automatic turn off feature when they're full. ... show more

  • Works as described...but it's LOUD
Style: 50 Pint Wifi New 2024
I ordered this to make sure my home was staying at the humidity level that was appropriate for a home in the humid south. I've placed it in the hallway off the main living room, which luckily is directly under the air intake for the ac unit. I've only had it a few days, so I can't attest to its longevity. It does in fact pull the water out of the air. I haven't had any issues yet with it leaking - the reservoir is collecting the water correctly. However, it's extremely loud. I had to turn it down on low and bump up thy humidity level (so it would run less often) overnight. Every time it kicked on, it woke me up. But to end on a positive note, the Air feels much better / lighter, and cooler. I tend to lean more cool natured, but I've even turned off ceiling fans and grabbed blankets bc I'm so cold. It's definitely doing what is it described to do, but it is not accurate. I bought another item to track the humidity level and the dehumidifier is not accurate - about 5% off. I think some other reviews already touched on it - if you want 40% then set the unit to 45%, etc. Again, the product works and no issues a few days in, but it is LOUD. Even on low, it's LOUD. I did buy a bigger unit than I necessary needed, so the value for the money is sufficient. The ease of setup was extremely simple - I was able to take it out of the box myself, review the instructions, remove a few pieces of tape, and get it running within about 10 minutes. I do really like that the one I ordered is wifi enabled and I can check it on my phone. The one star off is for how LOUD the unit is. ... show more
