Frigidaire makes generally reliable products. I've had a range of them and the problems I've had are normally with plastic parts, never with the mechanical or computer parts so far. As such, I was glad to have a review item from them. The item I received is rated at 8k BTU, which is adequate for a moderate size bedroom generally speaking. Results will vary based on conditions at your space. We have central air, but some rooms get hotter. We can use these to supplement where needed without modifying our home. On top of that I had a system failure at the tail end of summer. Window units to the rescue! We used window units for a couple of weeks and I suggest it's not a bad idea to have on hand in case of failures. This unit has an app interface which I haven't tried but am intrigued by. Losing the remote is a common occurence, but the cellphone is usually bedside or nearby. It's a better-outfitted, air conditioner from a trusted brand. You will likely be satisfied if you select the right size for your space, in my opinion. The value is good. ... show more

This Frigidaire FHWW085WE1 Window Air Conditioner, 8,000 BTU is a great window option for cooling off a room or two depending on their size. Easy to install and easy to use. We haven’t had to use it for constant cooling as the seasons have changed where we are. But we wanted to have a back up AC unit as we’ve been stuck with a broken one before. This looks well made and seems to work OK when checked out. Hopefully this will last for years and since it’s easily movable we will be able to change it to which ever room needs cooling if needed. I like that this is energy star rated as well and has some newer features than older models we have had. ... show more

I needed something to help lower my electricity bill. My central AC was great, but there was no way to control which rooms to cool and when. I got this to cool our lived-in rooms and closed off the rest of the house during peak hours. It kept the living room, dining room, kitchen, and bedroom at a comfortable temperature for 110+ days. It helped significantly with my electricity bill. It was easy to set up and take down for the colder months. It was user-friendly for the most part.
