Looks like a cheap shiny black color. A little tight in the ears but everyone’s lives are different. I couldn’t really hear my heartbeat until I put my finger directly over the hole. Lol. However, you can hear but the sound is pretty weak. But it does the job for the price we pay

I was surprised how good this scope felt in the hand. It is not one of those flimsy near-throw away scopes. I am a practicing nephrologist and I can hear lung sounds and heart murmurs just fine. Now if you are a cardiologist and you need to hear every subtle cardiac murmur maybe you need to get a lippincot, for the rest of us this one works great and is cheap. ... show more

I got tired of using a digital blood pressure monitor due to constantly replacing batteries and inconsistent readings. I always wondered why my doctor's nurse used a stethoscope and a manual blood pressure cuff so I decided to give it a try. I decided on this stethoscope based on price and reviews. Also didn't want to spend a lot on my first stethoscope. I have to say I'm very happy with this product and am having fun learning how to use it to take my blood pressure. It picks up my pulse in my arm, chest and neck pretty well. I have episodes of afib/arrhythmia occasionally and like to listen to my heart to make sure it's beating regularly.
