Description

Canson XL Mix Media Pads were developed as the answer to the demand for a heavyweight, fine texture paper with heavy sizing for wet and dry media. This paper can be used for: sketching, drawing, light washes of ink and watercolor, collage, journaling, and more. It has quickly become the most popular paper in the Canson paper family. Mix Media paper erases well and blends easily. The wire bound pads have micro perforated, true size sheets. These pads were developed in consultation with art professors and combine performance with value for the art student. Sorry the photo isn't the best but I wanted to show you what I got with the black Canson artist pad that wasn't mixed media but the black drawing pad in the same size to note the huge difference in how many pages you actually get. It's almost double in size for the same size 7x10. The diff was the black book is 92lb and the white was 98lbs so heavier duty too.i ordered mixed media. I do have to say one minor problem that is the use of the claim it is ok to use any mixed type media on the pages isn't all that true. I used chalk markers I got off Amazon on a page and it did start to get wavy a little bit. But after it dried I couldn't or didn't notice this anymore so I'm not sure why it does this drawing on it then dries excellent but it is a win win definately!!! ... show more

Got this since I have a larger version and needed a smaller one to take around that was mixed media. Mainly using gouache and watercolour, the free edge will buckle a fair bit, but that's not too much of an issue for me, especially since I tape the sides down. With markers, it does bleed onto the back of the page, but not onto the next one, though it may with more layers (I tend to only use markers in 1 layer over sketches). Using microns and india ink, it doesn't seem to bleed through. Overall good sketchbook for travel. :) ... show more

I love how it has pages that can easily be torn out, paper is thick and can be used with water colors, paints, permanent markers and it doesn’t bleed through. Doesn’t leave smudges when erasing, but I use the white erasers used for art. Paper does not tear when erasing or pressing down hard (which I do when writing or drawing) I really love the fact permanent markers and paints don’t bleed through at all!! I highly recommend this art book, could be used for journaling if you so wish, I write my poems and thoughts after I decorate it with my artwork. I give it 5/5 stars and two thumbs up! Great for beginner artists I’m not a professional or a beginner I make mistakes all the time and so I erase a lot, the paper is perfect for this because no ripping or tearing at all. Again I HIGHLY RECOMMEND this it’s perfect for all ages which age range would be 3-99+ age range. My “adopted” (my BFF daughter) is two years old and she loves to color and draw with me and she doesn’t get upset when I hand her a page or two out of my little art book because the paper doesn’t rip or bleed through on her and she smiles ear to ear when she colors with me more so when I hand her one of these pages. ... show more
