  • Need help turning it on or understanding the PAS modes? I've got answers!
I'll begin by saying I love this bike. It's zippy and looks cool. The quality is at a high level. It feels well-made and not rinky-dink like some of the others I've seen around the neighborhood that kids got for Christmas. Now let me tell you of some of the problems I've had with the bike. To start with, this bike has an identity crisis. Here on Amazon it's generically referred to as a FREESKY 3500W Peak Dual Motor Electric Bike, but after cross-referencing with the FREESKY web site and a variety of YouTube videos, I've come to realize this is the same bike referred to as the FREESKY Ranger and the FREESKY M540. This was a big source of confusion for me as I was doing my research before buying the bike! The other big confusion for me is the fact that the user manual and most of the literature online give different instructions for how to turn on the bike and what the different PAS modes do. It took me an embarrassing long time figuring out how to even turn the dang bike on!! The type of display screen and control panel on the bike I received did not match the one shown in the user manual or most of the videos shown on FREESKY's website or in the Amazon description. Finally, I stumbled across a video that gave proper instructions for the type of display and control unit of my bike. If you go to the "Product Videos" section of this page and scroll down to the bottom of the list of "Videos for this product" on the right side of the page, you will see a video called "How to power on&off the ebike-King meter". I guess FREESKY updated the display/control unit on the bike and forgot to update any of their literature. To save you time, I'll tell you the secret, you just need to tap the flat rectangular plastic card thing-a-majig on top of the thumb control panel that's on the left side of the handlebars (not the LED display screen, but the panel with the up/down and left/right push buttons on it). Oh ya, and before you tap it, you need to first make sure you've toggled the on/off button on the battery to on (the 1 is on and the 0 is off). You can toggle the battery switch through a little hole in the aluminum frame that's covered with a rubber plug you can remove. You don't have to take the battery out of the frame to turn on the switch like the instructions say. I guess there didn't used to be a hole in the frame to give you access to the battery switch. There's also a hole in the frame giving you access to the charge port as well. A couple more confusing things were the explanations for the different PAS modes and the instructions for how to unlock the speed limit on the bike. As far as I can tell, PAS 0 means you do all the peddling with no help from the motors (even pushing the throttle lever with your thumb doesn't do anything), PAS 1 gives you a little bit of help pedaling and allows you to use the throttle lever if you want to, but the motors will only assist you up to about 17 mph. PAS 2 gives you a little more assistance pedaling and moves the assist speed limit up to about 20 mph. PAS 3, 4, and 5 provide more and more assistance as you pedal, but still have the assist speed limit of 20 mph unless you unlock the bike. To unlock the bike (or put more correctly, change the speed limit from 20mph to 45mph), you simply need to long press the right green turn signal arrow for a few seconds right after turning on the bike. You will see the display change from 20mph to 45mph if you do it correctly. Until I realized this only works when the bike is stopped, I couldn't figure out how to get the higher speeds. When the speed limit has been changed to 45mph, then PAS 1's limit is still about 17mph, but PAS 2's limit is about 25mph, and the higher PAS modes all have the higher limit of 45mph. In actuality, the fastest I've been able to get the bike to go is about 35mph, but that was booking, and I wouldn't normally want to be going that fast. Oh, one more thing, as far as I can tell, the walk assist mode isn't really a mode. You simply put the bike in PAS 0 mode, and then whenever you want a little assist with pushing the bike, you have to push down on the minus (-) button on the controller. It only assists you while holding the button down. I hope this helps someone. I love this bike so far, and especially love the quick acceleration when I'm in dual motor mode (just long-press the left green turn signal button to go into dual motor mode). ... show more

  • Amazing e-bike
This is the most amazing e-bike ever. People stop and look at its duel motors and how solid bike looks. It’s a joy to ride and very well built. Climbs all hills in my very hilly city. No regrets on this purchase.

  • Surpassed Expectations
Color: Black Style: Standard
This e-bike has surpassed expectations. I've had it for about a month and rode approximately 300 miles. I can ride it leisurely for 50 miles and only use 33% of battery life. It feels sturdy, and it's very enjoyable. I had to wait for years for the price to drop, but it was worth the wait. The batteries and motors have become extremely efficient and reliable. I regret not purchasing the front and rear baskets because aftermarket baskets don't fit well at all. I had to order them from their website, and it cost more than if I had purchased them with the e-bike originally. I also purchased a comfortable seat and ergo grips because I can spend many hours riding this thing. It's a lot of fun, and I highly recommended it, but beware because it's a lot of bike. I'm 210 lbs at 5'8", and it can easily carry me around (especially in all wheel drive mode). ... show more

  • Great bike, especially for the money!
Great bike. Super happy so far. Assembly was easy and fairly quick, though the manual could be improved. I’ve already put over 60 miles in over the first three days. Performance is great. The ride is great. It’s a heavy bike but that isn’t an issue for me. I’m a big guy 250 lbs. Range seems in line with claims so far but I have pushed below 40% yet. Torque when both motors are active is very impressive. Motorcycle quick. I did hit that 33 mph shutdown limit that others have mentioned. Pulling the battery resets. But I’m sure I’ll figure that out and it really isn’t much of an issue for me anyway. Overall quality seems very good so far. Great value compared to the name brand bikes I had been considering. I’d buy this again if I needed a 2nd bike. ... show more

  • Nice bike! Fast delivery easy assembly
Easy to assemble with video and help on the front tire. Charged battery and away you go. Start slow and you’ll have a great time! I live on a hill side and I put 2 miles in on the dirt effortlessly and without incident. I will review in a month. I’m impressed with the build quality and display is brilliant. ... show more

  • Poor service.

After leaving a few messages. No one returns my calls. I ordered 3 bikes. The one was great. The next one had a screen that does not work. And the 3rd bike they say was delivered however we can’t find it.

  • Powerful, Stable, and Worth Every Dollar!
I absolutely LOVE this bike!! 😍 The FREESKY Ranger AIR exceeded all my expectations. It’s super powerful but still very smooth and comfortable to ride. I can get a nice little workout by pedaling, and when I get tired, the motor takes over — it honestly feels like magic. Hills are effortless! The bike feels very stable and safe, even in strong wind (which I didn’t expect, but now I really appreciate). And the fat tires make riding on different surfaces so easy. The battery is also very convenient — you can charge it without removing it, or take it off if you want. One of my favorite things — I added a seat on the rear rack, and now I ride with my grandkids… they absolutely LOVE it! 💛 It turned into such a fun family activity. Overall, this bike makes me happy every time I ride it. 100% recommend! ... show more
