I purchased the Power Extend 2427 first off all because limited space to store a net in the boat and secondly because we fish waters with multi species of fish. It is not uncommon to catch Northerns in excess of 30 inches while fishing for Walleye that are smaller but still require netting. I see reviews that say that the secondary handle is too weak. This net is designed to be lightweight and easily stored, which it is. If you want a fence post with a net on the end, this is not your net. Once the fish is netted, use the added handle at the yoke to land it vertically. One issue that I had was that the extended primary easily retracted by just the resistance of the net being pushed into the water. The yellow release for the primary handle is adjustable. It has a brass pawl that can be accessed by disassembling the yoke ( Take lots of pictures) . I turned mine out ( counter clockwise) one and a half turns. Too much and the pawl wont come up and out of the hole in the handle and it can’t retract. I also found two screws inside the yoke that were stripped and wouldn’t tighten up. I added a drop of serviceable thread locker and cured this issue. Overall I’m happy with this net, it is definitely better than a fence poll.

Used this net a handful of times before the locking pin on the telescoping handle broke. Went to net a fish and the net popped off the end and sunk into 350 feet of water. This net is pretty expensive and the locking pins should be designed better. Worst spot on a net to have a weak point. Had to lift the fish over the side of the boat. Now I have an expensive telescoping bow staff. Would not recommend.

The reviews about it breaking are not entirely true. If you hold one spot and press the “telescopic handle Release” button and let it extend full force and slam the stopping tab, it would plausibility break. Just support it and guide it when you extend it and it’s all good. Best bet I’ve ever beheld. The 24x27 is way way bigger than I imagined. First land was a 38 inch flat head and it plopped in the net like it was nothing. Coulda held two 40 inch flatheads. With the price of rods these days, this is the best you can get for the $ and quality

I use this net for carp fishing in tournaments at night. A lot of times I am by myself with no help and therefore this is a must-have. I can Bank every fish that I catch if I can get it close to that net. Not only can I see the fish but I can see the net. Would highly recommend

This is a very big and well made net for big catches. The telescopic shaft features are solid and sturdy and fit into each other firmly in addition to collapsing into the net making this a compact tool when not in use. Great engineering here. BUT there’s two major issues: 1. Net head can easily be lost into the deep sea. This is how: The net head releases from the shaft by pressing a large button near the end of shaft by the net. On more than one occasion while getting ready for the take in the net would disconnect from the shaft. The button will either stick open and or you accidentally press the button. HUGE issue!! 2. Does not fit medium to small rod holders when stowing away. Other than these two major issues it’s a beautiful piece of fishing gear for smart fishermen.

Went to use this net for the first time this morning, and after a half hour of use, the rear rubber handle shot off the end after the spring loaded extension was triggered. I would expect much more from a brand such as this.

Out of the box the net looked great. Took it out on the lake for the first time...popped the extended handle to land a big pike and the black handle rocketed off the end of the metal part of the pole and ended up in the lake. As you can see in the picture the quality is lacking on how it is built.
