  • The BIG One, My New Favorite Machine!
Another hit, honestly. This is my third FoxAlien machine and every one has been better than the last, I've been slowly upgrading over the last few years and I'm SUPER excited about how BIG this thing is. I actually went and bought a new table to turn into the dedicated work surface for this, but it actually *wasn't big enough* and I ended up having to BUILD a work table for it. This thing is MASSIVE, it's literally over four feet in each direction, it's gigantic. But the great news is, despite how big it is, it's very steady and very strong, it's definitely a really solid build, the parts are all really well fitted and precise and the whole assembly is just so heavy duty that I want to test it against different stuff. I haven't machined any metal yet but I bet this thing could handle it. ANYWAY, I've just been running tests so far but all the tests have gone really well. I used it with the FoxAlien palm router and a surfacing bit, and I removed the top eighth of an inch or so of a blank plaque from the craft store, mostly to see if it would do a consistent job and if it would get hung up on it at all, but it definitely didn't even when I moved the bit across it at a high speed. OH right, this thing can really shmove, like, most of the machines I've owned top out their feed rate around 600, but I've been running the XE-Ultra at 2000 consistently and I'm sure it goes faster, I just haven't SET it faster for safety. I started it out at 500, moved up to 1200, then 2000, and it went right through without even noticing the wood was there, the motors on this are STRONG. My plunge test was much the same, though I made the mistake of setting up that carve with only a 30° v-shaped bit so it took a couple hours, I'll do another one to see how fast it is with a proper end mill to clear the bigger areas. I'm currently planning to visit my local sort of reclaimed-lumber co-op place to find a couple BIG chunks of wood so I can really do a big carve with the full size of the machine, I want to make a sign for my table for events, and thanks to the huge size of this machine I could make one that's over 3 feet long! I will say, you should make sure you've gotten your space laid out and planned for BEFORE starting assembly of the machine, I was very put out when I discovered that my table just fully wasn't big enough and I had to figure out a different solution. The bulk of the machine comes in three big pieces, the two sides and the top. Those three pieces are all pretty hefty, you shouldn't need help lifting any one piece but you'll probably need help with the box when it arrives because it's a huge box and it has all the pieces in it together. Still, if you don't lift anything heavy ever, just be aware that the parts are mostly big and heavy for this. But that IS because the pieces are all super duper solid, like I really can't stress enough how amazed I was/am to discover how steady the machine is. I'm gonna update this later with a video showing what I'm talking about, it's HUGE and it cuts through wood like the wood isn't even there, it's *awesome*. ... show more

  • No customer service.
Potentially a good product, but mine arrived with the Y axis intermittent which soon stopped. Asked customer service for a new control box if I return the defective box. After many emails where they asked me for symptoms, photos and diagnosis, they sent a new board, no instructions, no diagrams or pictures. After more emails and threats to return the product, I received a diagram, but the labels do not correspond with lables on the box. There are 20 cables connected to this board with no room to work. After 5 hours spent removing and reconnecting, it still doesn't work. I've had enough. Back it goes. Can you see the old board in the photo? ... show more

  • Powerful, Accurate, and Amazing Value — Highly Recommended & Worth Every Penny
The FoxAlien XE-Ultra has been a fantastic CNC machine for my shop. It’s built solid, runs smoothly on linear rails, and holds accuracy extremely well for detailed projects. Assembly was straightforward, and FoxAlien’s instructions and customer support were both excellent. It works perfectly with software like Easel, VCarve, Fusion 360, and gSender. I’ve made signs, cutting boards, and detailed engravings, and everything has come out clean and consistent. What I love most is how upgrade-friendly and user-focused the XE-Ultra is. Everything from tramming to maintenance is easy. If you’re looking for a CNC that delivers professional-level performance without the professional-level price, the XE-Ultra is a fantastic choice. I’m extremely happy with it and highly recommend it to anyone looking to take their CNC skills to the next level. ... show more

  • *Highly Recommend FoxAlien – Outstanding Customer Service
I recently purchased the FoxAlien XE-ULTRA 8080 CNC Router and wanted to share my full experience. Out of the gate, there were two hiccups: 1. **Delivery issue** – The original shipment was damaged in transit but was rectified. 2. **Product issue** – while assembling I had wire harness issues but technical support was offered to correct my issue. I reached out to FoxAlien support on a Sunday evening expecting to hear back in a day or two. To my surprise, I had a response within **2 hours**. The rep asked for a couple of quick photos and a short video. By Monday morning they had already shipped a replacement. The replacements arrived in just 3 business days, and Lisa followed up twice to make sure everything was working perfectly. Once the minor issues were sorted, the XE-ULTRA 8080 has been an absolute beast. The build quality is solid, the extended 8080 work area is perfect for my cabinetry side projects, and the new linear rails make movement buttery smooth. Cuts in hardwood and aluminum have been clean and repeatable. Bottom line: stuff happens in shipping and manufacturing, but FoxAlien’s customer service is legitimately top-tier. They didn’t make excuses, they just fixed it fast and kept me in the loop. That kind of responsiveness is rare these days. Would I buy from FoxAlien again? **100% yes.** In fact, I’m already eyeing their laser module for this machine. If you’re on the fence, pull the trigger – you’ll be in good hands. Highly recommended! ... show more

  • Defective part / warranty/ replacement delay
I paid for 4 year extended warranty and haven't received documents showing that I have. The thumb drive isn't complete! The Y2 motor is defective, doesn't work. Contacted Foxalien the representative was helpful but no confirmation # for replacement. Was told I probably won't receive the parts until possibly in June after contacting them at the end of April. ... show more
