  • A fantastic addition to my kitchen
Style: UQS3001
Having used the FOTILE Pixie Air UQS3001 for more than a year, I can offer my experience. The stainless steel design is clean and integrates well with my kitchen's aesthetic. It provides effective ventilation; it handles cooking fumes and odors efficiently. Even during high-heat cooking, the air quality in the kitchen remains noticeably improved. The integrated LED lighting offers good visibility over the cooktop. The mechanical buttons are straightforward and reliable for operation. Over the past year, the range hood has maintained its performance and appearance. ... show more

  • Robust and Quiet!! Highly recommended
This is a great hood!Quiet and robust, I can feel that this hood is making the kitchen less “smoky” and clean. Beside, this hood has really good looking, which makes me feel I’m cooking in modern kitchen rather than 1900s. I bought this vent hood as a replacement for kitchen aid hood from previous owner. Be honest, let professional do professional things, so does hood. This brand really give me good experience on cooking. Installation was a bit more complicated than the round top vent because it needed bigger hole but the template and instructions were detailed enough to install. ... show more

  • High quality, powerfully venting, under-counter hood
Style: UQS3001
The media could not be loaded. Replaced a GE Profile over-the-range microwave/hood combo with this unit after the GE repeatedly failed and became choked with grease. It never really had great suction. Decided we needed the combo of a better hood and a small countertop microwave in our small kitchen. This new Fotile hood does the job. Build quality is excellent and the installation manual was adequate. The only negative - the printing was rotated on the cardboard template (IE not square- off by a 1/4 inch one end of the template to the other), though the all important mounting holes were in the right place. Took a bit of unnecessary hassle to realize this and install the unit. Once installed, it works like a charm. Very, very quiet and powerful and perhaps better that a much larger Vent-a-Hood we had in a previous kitchen. One issue with my installation - it’s clear you need a large diameter duct to get the best performance. I stepped our’s down to 4 inches from the 7 inch outlet on the hood, and that created a lot of noise. Still, it’s way better than what we had before. 5 stars overall, though they need to fix that template. ... show more

  • Noisy and no suction
Style: UQS3001
The media could not be loaded. The product is not up to the mark. It is too noisy and suction is almost none.

  • Poweful suction perfect for gas ranges
Style: UQS3001
The media could not be loaded. The venthood is powerful and looks great. Do not settle for a quiter fan and settle for less CFM. The 21" depth is a plus to cover cooking on front burners. It moves a lot air and my kitchen and flooring is not oily anymore. The oil catchpans do not restrict airflows and they fit in the dishwasher and can be handwashed in the kitchen sink. I believe a lot of noise or issues from other reviews are because of improper installations and improper venting ducting sizes. They did not show their ducting pictures. The smaller and longer ducting will create small tunnel wind noise and restrict airflow. 6" ducting diameter is the minimum for this unit. It will be perfect if you have 7" or larger ducting diameter. The unit vertical duct diameter is 7" so I had to buy a 7" to 6" connector at a home improvement store to fit my vent out ducting. I installed it myself with my son help. Mainly to hold it over his head when I screwed the top bolts into the units. The template for the top 4 screws from the template are off. You will need to remark the hole on the template on the actual venthood before installation then drill 1/2 inch holes on top cabinet to give you room for adjustment. ... show more

  • Best hood out there
Style: UQS3001
I have had this hood over my range for more than a year now, and am finally ready to write a review. Those who just want the short version: buy it. It's arguably the best hood out there, even for the money. And I absolutely love it. I don't write too many reviews in general, but something compelled me to write one here. You'll need to read on to get the details... First, it's not cheap. I paid $650 for it at the time, and see that it went up $200 in the past year for the base model with mechanical buttons (the one I have). It jumps up hundreds of dollars for 'motion sensors' and wider footprint, which I expect to perform basically the same. Even at these higher prices, it's all worth it, a good buy and you can't go wrong. I had 3 criteria when I bought this: 1. 30". That's the width I had to work with. No option here. 2. MAX AIR FLOW. The whole point for me was to eliminate the microwave-oven-over-the-range-as-a-fan which to me at least never worked satisfactorily. Hood units out there tote 200-300CFM as 'very high vent air flow!'. So I was attracted with the 800CFM stated effective flow rate of this unit in the description! I spent weeks researching the various options, and very few go that high! The higher priced Fotile hood options for this model state 850CFM with a 'super-high-setting' that mine does not have. The manual actually states that the flow rate is 480 CFM for the vertical duct setup, as tested by HVI. Still amazing. 3. NOISE. I can't stand those loud fans that make you want to turn it off and stink the house just so you don't have to have that blaring in your face. Here's how it performed: 1. Yep, it's 29 13/16" wide. 2. CFM: I didn't measure it, but can tell you that it's VERY effective and surpasses expectations. Their instructions call for 24"-28" height above the stove for effective venting. I'm at 31" above it, and it works perfectly. Very happy/impressed with that. 3. NOISE. That one is finally taken care of, and is now extremely good. They quote a 3.6 Sones at High Setting in their manual; not sure what that means in real-world. Bottom-line: It not whisper-quiet at the max flow rate, but very acceptable, given the suction power that it has. You don't feel compelled to turn it down just so you can talk. Very happy with that too. So: all great across the board on my three criteria! Finally, the 'grease traps' that come with this thing are fantastic. They catch everything and are super easy to clean. Perfect setup! ok... soooo...., why just 3 stars?? Should be 6+-stars by now, right? No. Instructions/information is the problem. I don't mean here 'how to hang it on the backwall or under the cabinet' stuff, which will be obvious to any DIY'er worth their salt. It's also well-documented in the manual, just in case. It's clearly not originally written in English anyway, but that's not the problem; the translation is alright. It's what it misses. More esoterically, for those of us who, like me, don't do this every day, some fundamental expertise in ventilation systems is assumed, and not spelled out anywhere in their manual. It's absolutely needed to make this unit work right, and that really irritates me. In other words: this system will disappoint you if you only install it according to the provided instructions . Here's why: I live in California, and the weather here is great. Never goes below 40F, even on the coldest night. Still: consider opening your kitchen window by 7", all day/all night long, even when it's 40F outside. How do you feel about that? Trust me: you'll feel it when you walk in the kitchen or anywhere near it!! It's crazy how quickly a big hole like that will cool down your house, even if it's not that cold outside. And that's exactly what mounting this hood 'as-is', according to the instructions, will do. Also: don't forget about point #3 above too. To make this work (and everyone in the HVAC world will roll their eyes at this, like it's so obvious. But it wasn't obvious to me), you need a 'backdraft damper'. That's a $20 piece of duct-work (not included, of course) that stops outside air from coming into your house when you're not using the fan. And this things brings in 2 other new problems: 1. they're not all make the same (i.e., most of them suck... hint: DONT even THINK of going to Home Depot to get this), and 2. they can make your whole system oh soooo noisy! - see criterion #3 up there. It took me three tries to finally get it right. Each time was a 1-3 hour tear-down and rebuild exercise, not fun. But in the end, you end up with a truly great system that I would rate 5-stars. I would have given it 5-stars too, if Fotile had simply guided me a bit in this silly process. [If you're interested: here's the damper that finally solved all my problems: "AC Infinity 8” Backdraft Damper, One-Way Airflow Ducting Insert with Spring-Loaded Folding Blades for 8” Ducting in Range Hoods" (https://www.amazon.com/dp/B0842Y637Z?ref_=ppx_hzsearch_conn_dt_b_fed_asin_title_1) Yes, I know: this hood is 7" and not 8", but that's an easy problem to fix with a couple of flare reducers.] And all this is Fotile's fault, in my opinion: you don't get people to open 7" holes in their house and not say anything about it. I was so baffled by the problem that I even argued with a friend that it was impossible that such a backdraft-preventer wasn't built-in to the hood, at that price! I was wrong: when you look at the hood from the top, you can see right through the 2 squirrel cage fans :( Can you imagine living in Minnesota with this? Or Winnipeg!! Brrrrr, I'm freezing just thinking about it. I think that part of the problem is that Fotile's flagship hood (the big, slanted, monstrosity) does have a flap that only opens when you turn on the fan. So they didn't bother with a damper on any of their other hoods maybe? To be fair: buried deep on p. 6 of their 'Safety Instructions' of their Chinese-translated manual is one line that says: ' Please install the damper according to the national or local codes if you need.' The Installation Section that includes a slew of Optional Parts say nothing about any damper or backdraft concerns, or duct noise from using one. Anyway, that's the long story. Sorry Fotile, you lost 2 stars for making me do all this extra work. Hopefully, this long narrative will help someone else. And cooking with this unit is now the real pleasure I was hoping it would be when I first put it up. Below is a pic of the final installation, with everything that works as it should. Enjoy! ... show more
