This is nothing like the smart watches you may be used to. In fact it is a little bit of the old school analog watches mixed with some modern technology. The dial is very easy to read and there is a backlight that turns on when you double tap the watch face if you need extra light. I like that you can use the app to easily customize the watch face. You can build your own, download others or create what you want. You can add a digital clock, date, heart rate, O2 levels, weather and so much more. This is NOT a touchscreen watch. That is where some people get a little confused I think. There are 3 buttons on the side. The middle button takes you to the Home Screen and the other two buttons move through the different apps that are available on the other screens that you select. This watch allows you to answer calls on your iPhone or android with he tap of a button. You can read your text messages and see other notifications that you set up. It also can be set up to be used with Alexa. This watch is great for those who want to minimize interruptions, but still have the latest technology on their wrist. It really is a great middle ground between old and new school. I used this with my iPhone 14 pro max and from downloading the app to setting up the watch face I wanted, took me less than 5 minutes. Now, playing around with it took a bit longer, but set up was super easy. You just follow the prompts after downloading the fossil watch app, which is easy to find, as the watch has a QR code displayed on the face that you simply point your camera at, tap the link that appears and download the app. One of the things that I like most about this hybrid watch is that the battery lasts quite a while, it will differer based on how much you use it, but you do NOT need to charge it everyday or even every week. It comes with the charging cord, but not a block. So, you will need a USB charging block to plug it into when it needs to charge. Overall, I rate this as 4 stars. It is a nice hybrid watch with a lot of features. The reason I take off a star is because the middle button turns, but I have no idea why. It would be so much easier to turn that to change between the icons, versus pushing buttons up and down. Also, there are almost no directions in the box. Just a basic, how to plug it in to charge. I could not figure out how to (or if I can) turn it off to save the battery on the days that I am not using it. So, they definitely need better directions, or a link to them in the app. Still, this is a solid hybrid watch, that I think minimalist will absolutely love. ... show more

The Fossil Gen 6 Hybrid Wellness is a blend of a classic watch(with hands even) and a modern smartwatch, but with a display reminiscent of 80s/90s digital watches. The time is synchronized with your phone, so you don't have to worry about setting it. The heart rate and SpO2(blood oxygen) sensors seem accurate, so long as you are wearing it tightly on your wrist close to your hand. The step counter misses a lot of steps when casually walking, but performs better if you are moving at full stride. There is a workout mode with a timer and separate tracking of heart rate, steps, and estimated calories burned. Annoyingly, when I workout with notifications active on this watch it keeps vibrating to tell me what music is playing on my phone quite often, treating the media player as a notification so I keep having to hit the home button to clear the notification so I can see the metrics I'm tracking. The E-ink display leaves a bit to be desired. It is a fairly low contrast gray monochrome. Don't be fooled by the one picture on the listing showing a multicolor display, that's not what you're getting. The responsiveness of the menu is a tad slow due the nature of E-ink. Readability is passable in brightly lit conditions if you have good eyesight or glasses, but in dimmer or dark conditions it is very challenging to read even with the backlighting(pictures don't do it justice, the Pixel 7 Pro I take the pictures with is just too good at enhancing images). You tap on the face twice to activate the backlight and it requires fairly hard taps. There are 4 rather dim lights in each corner for illumination and they're insufficient for properly lighting the face. They should probably double the number of lights. Build quality seems very solid. This seems like it should be quite durable. Comfort is decent with the factory watch strap, but not so comfortable that I would wear it at night for sleep tracking after wearing it all day. ... show more

I have the Apple Watch. I only got it because I want to track my heart rate. To be honest nothing else except that and the time is needed for me. Hence, when I saw this watch I decided to get it. I like the classic watch display and the customization on it. It’s very comfortable to wear. As a matter of fact I couldn’t sleep with my Apple Watch, but I can sleep wearing this one which is a big plus. The battery life is definitely better. What I don’t like: - it’s kind of slow with responding to button pressing. - I still don’t know how to turn it off - the band attracts my dog’s hair! - it disconnects from the app randomly, I don’t know why But overall I am pleased with the watch. I have been wearing it since I received it (take it off for baths and cleaning the watch). I like the simplicity of it. Thank you. ... show more
