  • Great Value Smart Watch with Limited Features
This is a Hybrid Smartwatch, which means it has battery-powered mechanical hands as well as a simple display with user-configurable options. It communicates with a nearby cell phone using Bluetooth to give you selected alerts (but no way to respond to them). Pluses: The watch is much less expensive than a full Smartwatch. It is beautiful, solid, and sturdy. The leather/silicone band is gorgeous and super comfortable. The battery lasts nearly forever between charges. I last charged mine over 2 weeks ago. I wear it every day and still have 27% battery left! The mono color display is always on and easy to read in bright conditions. You can change the background and what information it shows. In addition to relaying notifications from your phone, it has on board sensors for steps, heartrate, and blood oxygen levels. It also has sleep tracking and a microphone so you can summon Alexa. However You can't summon Google Assistant or Siri. There is no speaker so alerts are vibration only. No Google WearOS, you must use the Fossil Smartwatches App. The screen is hard to see in low light, even when activating backlight feature. There is no touchscreen, you navigate the menus using 3 side pushbuttons. I have a problem using watch to track walking workouts where the watch overwrites the correct Google Fit walking distance with incorrect distances. In Conclusion This is a beautiful, relatively inexpensive watch with limited Smartwatch abilities. I took off 1 star because to the annoying walking workout distance problem. Hopefully a future software update will address this. Update: I added the fifth star because I discovered if you just track your workouts on the watch it updates Google Fit just fine. You just have to open the Fossil App and synch the watch with the phone once or twice a day. I actually like the lack of a speaker so I never have to think about putting the watch on DND during meetings. ... show more

  • My kind of smartwatch!
Once upon a time I had a Pebble. I loved it. The battery lasted forever and it was simple, and stylish in a nerdy sort of way. Along the way I picked up a Gear Fit2 which was alright, but I missed the quirkiness of my Pebble. The newer smart watches really didn't do much for me, I don't want something I need to recharge every day. So one night I wondered why no one made smart watches with e-ink like the Pebble. Well, it turns out someone did. Garmin, which was more than I was willing to pay for a watch, and Fossil. Let's be real, the companion app is pretty awful and I'm not entirely sure that Fossil hasn't discontinued support for it. The face customization is pretty simplistic, after the initial setup and the novelty of changing faces wore off I actually haven't opened the app since the first week I bought the watch. But, the battery lasts weeks if not a month, it's stylish, it has the heft of a "real watch", and it does everything I want out of my smart watch: tracks my steps, shows me who's calling, shows me text messages, and shows me the time. Beyond that I don't care about how a watch thinks I sleep, I don't need to respond to texts, I don't need to take pictures, etc. So, to me it's the grown-up Pebble I've always wanted, and if you can catch it on sale it's a great value. It also attracts a lot of attention in these days of everyone wearing the same Apple and Galaxy watches. ... show more

  • Looks good, nice feature set
Color: Neutra Brown
Looks great, is comfortable and goes well when dressing for the office. It has a few watch face options and some faces offer limited customizability but not as much as I'd like. The e-ink display works well but is slow, it only updates once every few minutes unless you do something like flicking your wrist or going into a menu. That's fine though, this is a watch/jewelry item first and a smartwatch second. For fitness stuff, it tracks walking distance and steps fairly accurately and the heartrate seems solid. It fails miserably with the calories burned calculator. It thinks walking 1 mile equals 800 calories for a 6'2" 200 lbs man. Real number is more like 120-140, depending on what source you believe. For a laugh, I set my weight to 100 lbs and it still thinks I burn 200 calories per mile, maybe I'll try setting it to 50 lbs. For non workout features, it has a timer, stopwatch, shows text messages and emails for outlook, whatsapp and sms. It has two customizable push buttons to act as hotkeys for whatever you want. I have them set to the stopwatch and music controls. There is also a long-press (non-customizable) for the bottom button to pull up notifications. Notification text is easy to read btw, the watch does text well. ... show more

  • Works well with my android
Color: Silver/Navy
I love the design. The watch is stylish so I feel comfortable wearing it to work and dress occasions. But durable enough to use when working out or walking. I like the features of the watch, especially health and step counters... I try to break 12,000 a day... I'm a teacher so I pace a lot each day... Loooong battery life. That's important to me. My last digital needed charged daily. My Fossil hasn't needed one yet and I'm a week on now. Very satisfied with the purchase and with how item was delivered. Looking for the matching one for the wife. I think she will enjoy it as well. ... show more

  • Its not a real "smart watch"
It has analog dials for the min and hour with an eink display in the back and it has many health tracking features. The display looks awesome and it's the coolest watch ive ever owned. On one charge it lasted a month not before dying (i charged it when it was around 20%) i hope they keep updating it or release another version this is a great use case for e-ink and i hope it catches on with other brands one e-ink can rival lcd i dont see why not ... show more
