I ordered this box and it showed up broken. It happens. The handle is designed to shear off. I called the company and they sent new parts. I replaced the parts and it works great now. Very satisfied. The latch mechanism is good. Simplex lock works great. Foam inside looks to be high quality. One of the topics covered in my CCW class was safeguarding firearms at home, especially since the CA city I live in now requires all gun owners to lock their guns up when not home, period. Both in the class and online, this safe has the most recommendations. The key feature is that it using an old-school push button combination. No batteries to go dead or fall out or biometric contact to fail if your hands are wet or dirty. On top of that, it's built like a miniature fortress! It's also roomy enough to hold all three of my compact pistols with room to spare. Since it is rather portable. securing it to something stationary is a must. I have two of these. They are great safes. Like the mechanical function combination for easy access. No need to fuss with batteries. Has two layers and easy to fit four gats in each. Heavy duty and easy to secure to a wooden surface.

I watched reviews on this pistol box and was expecting it to be a light safe. Boy, was I wrong. This safe is truly heavy duty. Nobody is getting into this. I love the non electronic lock so I don’t have to worry about battery’s. It is a quick way to access your gun and to keep it away from kids and people you don’t want to get a hold of it.     • Nice Safe. Mounting holes are not 3/8” as advertised.
Very nice gun safe. I like the mechanical lock except that the first I received was defective. Amazon quickly replaced it. Note that the mounting holes in the bottom are not 3/8” as described. They are 8mm. I used 1/4” flange bolts which worked well.

    • Beautiful finish and will last your lifetime
My electronic safe stopped working, with my gun inside so after breaking into it (fairly easily I might add), I went searching for a purely mechanical safe. This was it. No power required and it will never fail. Expensive yes but a once-in-a-lifetime investment. The metal gauge is extremely thick and un-pryable without multiple hours of work. Only downside is the limited number of combinations, although the ability to use multiple buttons per-press does help complicate the combination (you should utilize multi-button presses). Any person who has the analytical ability to enumerate and test all 1082 possible combinations is most likely not a danger to society. ... show more

    • Heavy Duty - worth the money.
This is a high quality safe that is heavy duty! No doubt that this thing will probably last longer than I do. Perfect fit for my Glock 19x and three mags with some room left over. I really like the cipher lock - easy to open in a hurry.
