Buying these manuals have always been a good investment. The instructions are always clear, and the photographs detailed and plentiful. Anyone that has the necessary tools can provide their own maintenance at a fraction of the cost of having a professional do it. And with the manual, you are able to determine which tools and supplies you do need before you start. Which is inestimably more important, since it's very inconvenient having to run to the hardware store to get a specialized snap ring halfway through the job. Most importantly is with the manual you have the confidence to tackle work you wouldn't have attempted otherwise. I feel like they're really good manuals, I guess I'm just more of a picture guy. Don't get me wrong, they have plenty of pictures, but I want picture, commentary, picture, commentary. Step by step. This manual has a lot of text, all the steps one after the other, then pictures on the top and bottom of the page. Paired with youtube, everything make sense, and I feel like this manual puts together all the missing pieces, and even tells you what fluids are needed based on the manual. I recently purchased a 2016 Ford Fusion. There aren't any books available that cover that year, but 2013 through 2018 are the same model series, so this will do. I purchased a factory service manual (on DVD) for this vehicle, but it's hard to find some information, and some just isn't there (no information on doing an oil change!). So I purchased both the Haynes and the Chilton books that cover the Ford Fusion through 2014. Both books are the same! Both by the same authors, both published by Haynes. The information inside is identical (with different fonts, and some pictures are slightly different). I've gone through both from front to back, and they are the same book! I wish I had known that in advance. I feel a bit ripped-off purchasing what I thought were 2 different books on this vehicle (sometimes a different viewpoint or different explanation can make something clear). Pick which book you'd like, and buy only that one! ... show more
