  • Fat Guy approved!
Color: Green / Grey Size: Single
The media could not be loaded. I’ve wanted to try hammocks for a while, my son is 10 and weighs about 65lb, I’m 35 and weigh 320lbs, so I was pretty skeptical that a hammock this cheap ($13-14) would hold me. I bought one for each of us, and this past weekend we took them on a cubscout trip. We did practice setting them up before hand, and like most of the reviews the included tree straps are pretty useless, stopped at the hardware store and picked up a pack of ratchet straps and no prob. I was very nervous getting in the first time being such a heavy guy and anticipating hearing a snap and hitting the ground, but it never happened. The straps on the end of the hammock look small and week but proved their strength. We slept in the hammocks all 3 nights on our trip and every night was great, we both fell asleep quickly and woke up refreshed. The other reviews complaining about comfort may have been sleeping straight on, which you should sleep/lay at an angle of about 30 degrees. This makes a big difference, and at 5’10 and 320lbs if I can fit in there comfortably, anyone should be able too. The only complaint I can justify is the tree straps are inadequate at best. They are strong enough just not long enough, but at the price point I wouldn’t of cared if they didn’t even come with it. We used them to lash up a bag. Get some ratchet straps or decent trees straps, they will give you the most flexibility with different distances between trees as well. ... show more

  • Must have
On a scale of 1-10 i give it a 22. Im in love with this hammock. Its cheap and quality is on point. Im 260 lbs it support me just find look at my fatness in the pictures. So easy to set up. I now realized i wasted time looking at all the other offer. It come in a bag attach to the hammock that turns into a side bag to put my keys or phone or book or anything. Update 4/4/2021 ( 3 years) later i still have it its very durable. I been relaxing in this hammock on my days off 6 hours at a time ... show more

  • The included strap is completely useles
If you want to buy one hammock off Amazon and use it, this is not the one to buy. I would not trust these straps to support my weight (120 lbs) if they were even long enough to go around any tree. They are incredibly thin and not long enough to be usable, I don't see why they would cheap out so much here when there are other hammocks at this price point that do a phenomenal job. If you have spare rope to use to tie around a tree, then you could get this hammock and be satisfied, sure, but the extremely thin "rope" that comes with it is also what's used to attach the carabiner to the hammock. If you only want to use this a few times, and on small trees, it should work for you. But I'd recommend spending the extra $1 or two on a better hammock with locking straps or looped straps, and wouldn't recommend this. I'm ready to return this ... show more

  • Decent, but I can't put it up.
I have had multiple hiking hammocks and I CAN use the old hardware to put this one up, but I shouldn't have to. This stated it came with straps. The straps were just over 3/8 of an inch wide and about 4' long. Not long enough to wrap around any decent tree and still be able to tie it to connect. The hammock itself was fine, lightweight, small bag, holds my weight just fine but if anywhere besides indoors or somewhere engineered for a hammock IT WILL NOT WORK unless you are very lucky on spacing. The price is amazing but I just can't bring myself to give it 4 stars without a way to hang it up because it was described as coming with a way to mount it. If you don't have a way to hang it, this is not the hammock for you. ... show more

  • Good for relaxing, not camping.
Color: Green / Grey Size: Single
This is a standard inexpensive hammock. Plenty of other hammocks are available in this general price range, and they all seem to be about the same. This one is made of a parachute type of nylon, not ripstop. I would not expect it to hold up to much abuse, but that is what the brand name camping hammocks are for. The hardware is useable, but I replaced the carabiners with some stronger ones I had lying around. This is not necessary, but not a bad idea if you have some spare hammock or climbing carabiners. The "tree straps" are not so much tree straps as weak, short nylon webbing. I realized this before I ordered, but it may not be obvious to others, so I thought I would mention it. I have a bunch of proper tree straps and didn't need another set lying around. If you don't have tree straps, I suggest buying a real set, or buying a different hammock that comes with real tree straps. So this hammock is not the most durable, comes with cheap hardware, and the "tree straps" are useless, so why buy it? Well, the eight or so yards of nylon to make a hammock would cost more than this, and I would have to sew it together. The parachute nylon feels a bit nicer than ripstop against my skin, and it's light and packs down small. I have a hammock I use for camping that is heavy duty, has all the quilts, bug nets, ridglines, and everything else. It packs down bigger, can be a PITA to set up, and I overheat if I want to sit in it for more than five minutes during a summer day. Having a quick setup, light weight, small option in my pack is worth 17 bucks. Bottom line, this is not a camping hammock. It's a quick and easy option if you want to relax on a hike or in your yard. For the price and intended use it works fine, just get a proper set of tree straps. ... show more

  • Would recommend just something to note
Color: Light Purple / Blue Size: Single
I bought one of these before and liked a lot so bought again. The only problem I found with this one is the rope to tie it is much shorter than other one which made it difficult to tie to trees I wanted to. The other I bought had plenty of slack in the rope. The type of rope too was flat rather than round making it difficult to tie. I would still recommend it but the rope choice could be different in my opinion. ... show more

  • Very thin rope (more like string or ribbon) on the ends of the hammock.
Color: Pink /Grey Size: Single
The string (more like a ribbon) that is on the ends, is very thin and weak compared to any other hammock I own. I own a child hammock that has a thicker (stronger) rope on the ends. We use this to hold stuff, not people, due it having such weak/thin connections.
