So far really happy with how this has performed and responded to being on the phone, that did have a perfectly operational screen on it it just had a massive crack going through it and to be honest all said and done it still does because just as i was finishing and was trying to get the screen to sink down flush into place which i was so close to having and got a little ancsy and tried to use some pliers with a good cushion between to it wouldn't crack anything but didnt realize i had one of the binder clips i was using to hopefully close up the gap i still had screwed up and accidentally let one of those get in the way and it created a new crack in the new screen. So that was my mistake but somethings you also dont want to do is when you’ve transferred screens and have it unplugged i would avoid at all cost from turning on the iPhone on accident by someway holding it in place when working on it so if possible i would almost try to run the battery down completely before you start this process because it’s easy to do a couple times by accident. Im no professional but ive done this a few times and feel like thats probably a safe bet. If it doesnt come back on right away because you ran it all the way down just leave it on the charger for a while and just like this one did it will eventually come on. It may be a little nerve racking but it eventually does come back if you just leave it on the charger. Also make sure to have a heat gun or hair dryer on hand for this process because to do majority of these steps you’ll need to heat up and loosen the glue by heating it up and it becomes a much easier install. The screen quality overall is really great if anything it just like new theres virtually no way of telling its a replacement and fits great you just need to make sure you clean out all the old glue inside the frame that the screen sits in and can do so by using some alcohol wipes or pouring some on a paper towel and it will help loosen up this glue as well some people even recommend pouring a little around the face of the phones perimeter to begin with but thats a method ive never tried i just always use heat, and it also came with a screen protector that seems like a decent screen protector but i had a different one that i like a little better that I applied and actually helped the cracked screen become a lot less seen and definitely not felt and really when the phone is in use you can even tell its been cracked so overall its a pretty durable and well made screen i would definitely recommend . And for the sellers i would recommend sending a small set of instructions with each customer to give them an idea of what to do instead of solely relying on YouTube videos that can sometimes get frustrating as a lot times you get can mixed information from these YouTube videos, great value overall though considering it works like new screen ... show more

I made the mistake of using the cheap tools bundled with a battery replacement for my iPhone 12 Pro Max, which stripped the screws and led to a multi-hour ordeal where I ultimately shattered my beautiful original OLED screen. Since the phone is so old it didn't hurt as much as it might otherwise have, but I was left with a phone with a full battery and no screen. Worse, I also destroyed the Face Sensor because the videos I pulled up didn't bother to mention it. Normally, I'd be too ashamed to admit I did something like this in public, but let it be a cautionary tale to anyone out there looking to attempt a DIY fix—be very, very careful with the pentalobe screws. If you feel an iota of resistance, stop attempting to unscrew them and find another tool. And pull up multiple videos for your specific phone model. This isn't a repair for the faint of heart...it's easy once you get the case open, but mess up the case opening and you're in for a world of hurt. That's the way Apple planned it. This LCD screen was just what the doctor ordered. Now that my case was open, I could just swap out the old OLED screen and swap this one in. It fit like a glove. Of course, being an LCD and not an OLED screen the blacks aren't as black and the response isn't as crisp, but it works. The color fidelity is nice, the response time is okay, and it's enough to hold me over until the release of the next iPhone, where it's probably time I got a new one anyway. I should say to set your expectations properly. As with most cheap LCD screens (especially if you're replacing an OLED), you'll encounter glitching with this. From time to time your screen will become unresponsive, especially when attempting a swipe from the bottom (shutting off the screen and turning it on usually fixes it), and every now and then your phone will experience "ghost touches", where it'll start scrolling and clicking on things on its own (at first I thought I was being hacked, but evidently this is common with cheap LCD screens). Previously I'd purchased an even cheaper screen where this was a common occurrence, but with this one it only happens occasionally—enough to be annoying but not enough to make the phone unusable. Bottom line, it's a great way to bring life back to a iPhone that was otherwise dead because of a broken screen, but it's not a 1:1 replacement for the original. ... show more

Recently my wife’s phone screen cracked. Since it was a refurbished second-hand phone, it was no longer under Apple warranty, so we started shopping around for repair costs. As expected, labor plus parts can add up quickly. When I saw this replacement screen kit, I thought we might have a plan. I have a friend locally who runs a small repair shop. He told us if we brought in a kit like this, he’d just charge labor and keep any leftover parts. That worked out perfectly. He had the screen replaced in under a couple of hours, and my wife was back up and running the same day. Could I have done it myself? Probably. But it would’ve taken me longer, and since he does this regularly, I was happy to pay a small labor fee and let an expert handle it. He specifically commented that the screen quality was quite good, which gave me extra confidence in the purchase. The display looks great, touch response is solid, and everything works as expected. For us, this was an easy five out of five — especially as a cost-saving solution compared to full retail repair pricing. And yes… she had a screen protector on it. That cracked too. There’s a new one on now.
