I got this unit to replace an older one that finally gave in. To me it is a basic unit that does its job. Lacks any advanced features but I'm not missing them. I use mainly pre-made bags so the missing roll storage is not a problem. I'l take the compact size over the storage. Pros: Small size, easier to store, solid vacuum and seal, simple to operate and use. We bought this for a Christmas gift for our daughter-in-law, since we've had such a great experience with ours. It's easy to use, works consistently great, and saves us so much money on meats, that we buy in bulk on sale, and then package in meal-ready quantities. Highly recommend.

If you're on the fence about a vacuum sealer, you probably won't regret buying one. If you have a family to feed and want to save money buy buying meat and veggies in bulk and freeze, this one will pay for itself in just a few weeks. Even if you decide on spending a little more on a different one, you should get one regardless. This one in particular is a decent "cheap" sealer. For the money, it works great. Some reviews say it stops working, mine works fine after 2 years. I did give it 4 stars because it does struggle sometimes to seal moist foods but if you switch to the dry setting while leaving the lid latched and press seal again and just let is go for 4-5 seconds more, it seems to work fine. Also, clean your sealer strip. It helps, as when it gets dirty (and it will) it doesn't make contact as well. Overall, it's affordable, fast, easy to store, easy to use, and even if SOMETIMES you'll have to do it over to seal, it's still well worth the money. You could pay a lot more and still have issues. If mine were to break today, I'd buy another one tomorrow. ... show more

So easy to use and store. No problems with freezing, and easy to seal as long as you cut the right size. If it's too small, it won't seal or vacuum. Price is okay, but have since found it a few dollars less at other stores.

This is actually the third brand I have purchased. The first one, the heat seal stopped working. The second one sometimes failed to vacuum the air. Went with a more name brand one this round so hopefully it will continue to work well for me.

No cord management or storage!! It works ok, not as strong as the other Foodsaver I had before. It is compact, however because there is no onboard cord storage or management, it hangs off on the side and gets caught on things. It makes it more cumbersome to manage than the regular one with onboard storage under the machine. Also, there is no roll storage or cutter. I didn’t think this would be a big deal, but it is a pain when I’m trying to make multiple bags. I can’t just keep sealing and cutting. Lost 2 stars for the cord and the price.
