I picked up this food dehydrator recently, and I’ve been experimenting with it a lot. One of the first things I tried was dehydrating cranberries and grapes. The cranberries were a bit tricky since they have a tougher skin, so they took longer than I expected, but once they were done, they had this really nice chewy texture. The grapes were easier - they turned into the sweetest little raisins, way better than anything you’d buy at the store. What I like most is how much space it has, so I could dehydrate both at the same time without mixing flavors. It’s also surprisingly easy to use; I just set the timer and let it do its thing. If you’ve ever thought about making your own snacks or even preserving herbs or fruits, this is a solid option. I’m already planning my next batch of dried apples and maybe even some homemade jerky.

I really like this dehydrator. I like that it has the racks that slide in and out and you can just put as many or as little as you want in there to dry. I’m used to the ones that you have to stack on a rack every time you wanna add something more and make sure it’s clicked on just right and it takes forever to dry the stuff. This one has adjustable temperature so you can air dry it cooler or warmer which means you can do beef jerky Safely. It says you can do yogurt, but it does not have the tray in it that holds liquid liquids or fruit purée so I’ll have to figure out how to do that. I might have to use wax paper or something of this sort like parchment paper. I’m really excited to be able to use this. I always have fruit laying around the house that tends to get old because the kids don’t eat it fast enough, especially the bananas and I absolutely love dried bananas. It is easy to control with just a touch of a couple buttons. You can power on and turn the temperature up and down. It goes from 70° to 190°. It has a manual included with it and it runs pretty quietly. You can even set a timer on it for up to 24 hours and go down in a half an hour increments.

Food-Dehydrator Machine 9 Stainless Steel Trays, 1000W Fruit Dehydrator. We have a large family and my daughters are very health conscious and like to eat dried fruit which can be rather expensive and you don't have total control over how the fruit was dehydrated or if there were any additives. So having this is great. Clean up was a breeze and we didn't have any issues with things sticking. This is 1000W so be sure to have it on a circuit that doesn't have other heavy loads. Over the Thanksgiving break we used this on bananas, apples, strawberries, and pitted cherries. It performed perfectly. All of the fruit turned out well. We experimented with different thicknesses of the fruit as that does make a difference as preferences can vary so try that out as well. Very happy with it's operation. We had no issues and using it was very intuitive. Read the directions and experiment with different foods. Remember that thickness will provide different results. My children made bags of fruit treats to bring back to college. They can't wait to come back home for winter break and try out more things. While they're gone I'll be spending more time with it too.

The media could not be loaded. We had an food dehydrator, but the temperature control would not go low enough to for yogurt, so we upgraded to this DBC-09A dehydrator from Cercker. It can control the temperature from 70°-190°f or 20° to 90°c and can set a timer from 0 to 24 hours with 30 minute intervals. It is built sturdy, but is lightweight, so it is easy to pickup with its built in handles. Note: This unit only heats, so in order to maintain low temperatures the room needs to be an equal temperature or lower than the setting. For testing I put in a Min-Max Thermometer while my wife was making yogurt. It was monitored for eleven hours and had a minimum temperature of 105.3 and a maximum of 106.8. My wife had set the temperature of the dehydrator on 110°f, but my readings were from the lower wall of the hydrator and I have learned from my fridge that placement is everything. I was very impressed with only a 1.5°f difference with changing temperatures over the night in our kitchen. To change the temperature between Fahrenheit and Celsius, press the temperature button, then press and hold both the up and down arrows for around 10 seconds. The Cercker dehydrator came set in Fahrenheit, but can be changed if you prefer. We love our new dehydrator/yogurt maker. It has a drip tray to clean messes. The interface is very easy to use and it is a great upgrade to the plastic one we had.

We like this easy to operate dehydrator. The digital controls are straight forward and the nine removable screen trays clean up easily. The only negative we found was the recipe book only lists temperatures in degrees C but we are using the dehydrator in degrees F. Fortunately it is easy to google the conversion.
