The temperature falls short for the required temp for jerky. So I have to have to run a batch for a other 1/2 dry time and still am not sure of what the shelf life would be. I would suggest investing a little more if your interested in making jerky. All in all I would consider it a hobby type model. Wish I would have read more on a dehydrator. I wanted an inexpensive entry into the world of dehydrating, and chose this one. I have been using it almost daily now and am having a blast. It works perfectly, is so easy to program, runs whisper quiet and I love that you can see the food as it is dehydrating. It is a smaller unit, so I find the drying times are elevated from the recommended but since I run it throughout the night it doesn't matter to me. I have since purchased a more commercial grade dehydrator, but will still be using this one on smaller batches or on extremely large when my larger one is full. I highly recommend this one for anyone thinking of getting involved in dehydrating. Just too simple to use and the results are fabulous. (you have to do pears.....we keep eating them all up and have to keep making more) If this unit is one of your final few to decide on, don't hesitate on this one. This is a very nice little machine. I used it to make apples and pears. I cut them in circles and the apples were a hit but the pears, not so much and they took longer than the apples. There really isn't much instruction on how to use, so do your research on best ways to dehydrate. It takes up approximately 12 x 10 ish space on the counter. Cons: the trays are awkward and don't stack neatly. You need to make sure they line up when it is on.. it stacks well for storage. ... show more

Instructions are in weird google-translated English, but it's self-explanatory. We now have dehydrated apples, bananas (actually, those are gone by now), oranges, strawberries, pumpkin, peppers... I only wish there was an option to see the temperature in C, and not just F, especially when the added tables is in C. ... show more

It’s my first time using this dehydrator and noticed marks from the plastic trays embedded into the banana slices. Not fond of having plastic melt into my food if that’s what happened.

I was so delighted to receive my dehydrator earlier than expected! The padding around the box could have been fuller, but my product was blemish free. It is incredibly easy to use, and I followed the booklet that came with the dehydrator to set it up. I was guessing on the time, but after I set the time and temperature, it was off and running. It is fairly quiet, and it shuts off after the time is used up. The design is sleek compared to the previous round dehydrator that I had before. During Covid I said 'I want to be a farmer'. Well, I live in suburbia and I over did it. I have fruit and veggies coming out of my Hoo Ha. Not a bad problem to have. The dehydrator is fabulous. I don't even toss my lemon rinds anymore.
