    • Electric fireplace insert
The media could not be loaded. I used this insert to replace an existing gas log unit. The instruction booklet could have had better details to prepare for installation. You must remove the glass front to install. There are two screws hidden inside the vents that must be removed to free the glass panel. But that worked itself out as the adhesive broke away from behind the glass, freeing the small clips that were next to impossible to find. The framing must include a chase for the power cord, as it is on the side of the frame box. This fit into the old opening of my gas log fire box very neatly. It is about all I could expect from a 1500 watt heater. Looks great and has a built in thermostat to control the heating function. I gave this a 4 star rating because I thought it could have a more powerful blower fan and I believe the fan should be at the bottom of the glass panel. I could not find any units in this price range that have the fan and heating at the bottom. I am happy with the quality and the overall function of this unit. ... show more

I ordered this fireplace to assist in heating a room in my house that is furthest from the furnace and also has a large drafty window. This fireplace is a great size at 36" across. It comes with two different items to decorate the interior of the fireplace: logs and/or clear crystals. There are also 7 different flames and flame bed color modes along with 5 different flame brightness levels. This makes the fireplace easy to customize to match your room's decor. The electric fireplace heats up to 97° and can heat up to 400 square feet. I really like that there is a remote, but there's also controls on the unit itself. This way the fireplace is operational with or without the remote. The remote does take two AAA batteries that are not included. The fireplace also has a timer setting that works well. You can set the timer to automatically turn off the fireplace in 30 minute increments from 1 hour up to 8 hours. You can mount this fireplace in a recessed wall or hang directly on the wall. This is a cute little fireplace. We installed it on the wall in our bedroom and are enjoying it. It’s nice that the buttons are on the front but it does mean you have to try hard to hide the cord which I’m not crazy about. It has lots of colors but non of them are very realistic. The flame is nice. I wish it came with more clear rocks because there’s just barely enough. The remote control is very helpful. ... show more
