Goal: replace an existing 9.5 Watt 2700K warm white LED trim downlight that's in a 6" recessed can, to illuminate a small walk-in closet from its 10-foot ceiling. What I wanted: glorious bright 5000K daylight white light -- 24 Watts! 2.5 times brighter! What I got: equivalent of a small fluorescent light unit with sickly bluish light that, to my eye, is not any brighter than the original unit, but with all the charm of a dimly-lit hospital hallway. Not worth the money. Not enough light. Quality of the light is sickly. Further, the spring clips that should engage the can's internal metal ears to pull the unit up into the ceiling don't work correctly. The unit refuses to pull up flush to the ceiling. This is probably due to the can's ears being up inside the can too far, but I can't fix that. So, currently, the light is hanging below the ceiling on its spring clips by about 3 inches. It's way up there at 10 feet, so you can't really tell the unit is not flush to the ceiling. But it's not fully installed. I'll live with it for a few days to see if I get used to it. But I fear I wasted $43. I would not purchase these again.

I replaced traditional recessed "high hat" lights with these. Just removed the bulbs screwed the special attachment in and these new surface mounted lights covered the old recessed lighting fixtures. Measure carefully, follow instructions (there are youtube videos also) The lights are very bright and can be wired traditionally with a dimmer if desired. My electrical skills are limited so I went with the screw-in attachment (included)

The kit was missing screws to secure the bracket to the plastic housing, sourced them from Home Depot instead. The install steps show a cross bar that isn't shipped or even looks functionally available on existing bracket. Skipped that ste! J hooks are sized for a 5/6" junction box, unfortunately I have an old school 9" junction box that is too wide. Otherwise, when plugged in these lights are really bright and are intended for closet installations. Still thinking of how to Macgyver these to fit...

The quality of the fixture seems fine and the light is very bright (almost too bright), but this is supposed to be a "flush" mount, AKA it is supposed to sit flush on the ceiling. Wasted a half-hour installing one of these to find out there's a 1/4" gap between the ceiling and the fixture and it was not easy to get it to hold to the mounts. The instructions show a different mount than the one you get. It's 4-sided (like a cross), not 2-sided. This was a total waste of time. I'm returning my fixtures.

These very nice and bright led lights will work on older 7" recessed can lights but you have to glue or weld the springs and mount bars to the mounting bracket. Spent hours trying to find a 7" retrofit and this is the only thing I could come up with. Everyone is selling 5-6" and have stopped manufacturing anything 7" related. I used gorilla glue and it works but if you don't have any and are going to the store might as well get JB weld or other strong glue. The screws supplied with kit will only mount for a 5-6" can light. I tried other screws and they will not work as the screw sticks out and the light will mount with a gap at ceiling not flush. It took me a while to install. A suggestion is to have the slots for the screws on the metal plate bigger. Most homes have an outlet in ceiling already. The normal fixture or outlet in ceiling has larger screws that go into what is already in ceiling. I finally found some screws at store would work. This problem could be solved if they would just make the slots in the rectangular metal plate I am happy with light. I put in kids bathroom and took down ugly dated light fixture. This looks clean and sleek.

I purchased these to replace some flush mount halogen fixtures in our church’s youth room. Very noticeable improvement in the lighting and are sufficiently thin as to be no distraction at all. Most installed very easily, but I needed longer screws in one case where the existing jbox was just out of reach. That’s not a fault with the fixture itself. I did not attempt to remove any of these after installing them, so I cannot comment on how easy that would be.

The lights are bright and work well. The plastic clips to hold the light in place to the mounting bracket are a nightmare. They are very difficult to clip in and if you miss the second one, well good luck. Now you have a light held on by one plastic clip while you try to remove the second one. If you let it fall a little the other clip breaks and you're screwed. They don't go in easily. You have to wedge it in then start hitting it with your knuckle to make it pop in. Horrible design
