It's great, looks good, but i had to remove the insulation in order to get this installed. This is perfectly fine if you're using LED lights, but if you're still kicking it old school, that's a hazard. Appearance 5/5. Ease of installation 3/5

Nice industrial dungeon look. The glass is medium thickness, but is concave at the base for added resilience. The light fixture turned out to be LARGER than I anticipated. For some reason I was thinking it would be around 8" dia! It is 11" dia at top with a 7.25" dia ring at base. This, combined with the total depth of about 5.5" makes it not ideal for low ceilings or small rooms/hallways, visually and functionally. And yet, the wattage rating is 40W, an alarming number if this is for both sockets total (which is not clarified anywhere). This pretty much limits you to LED options for bulb type, unless you are interested in using small, dim conventional bulbs (such as the orange flame bulbs) for ambient lighting effects. The wide bands protect the glass but will also cast bands of darkness on the walls and ceiling, so make sure this is the look you want. This item IS rated for outdoors and would look good on the right style of porch with a minimum of 7'-6"h ceiling.
